New Balance for sure has wide width shoes. That would be my first choice. Are you looking for running, walking, or casual types of shoes?

Casual shoes- I can work, go to school, walk around, that sort of thing. All the dress shoes I've amassed over the years are pretty much worthless now. I saw some brown suede NB's with the NB symbol which were nice. I would like the style to be simple, not too jazzy, however I can't be like the boring shoes I wear now:)

Heres nice and simple: the first shoe (silver) doesn't have to be that color though.

Check into Rockport. They make some styles up to 15W.

Just go to any store; they have a wide variety of nice looking shoes, and they're not too expensive either.

Thats the thing. I've been to Modell's, Athelete's Foot, Foot Locker, and some other stores and they don't have something in a size 14 wide.

Oh if it helps, I guess $150 would be my limit. I normally see NB's go for around $80 or so.

I'm a size 13 wide and there are plenty of stores that carry them around me. That's odd.

NB are great shoes, I don't actually run, but they are comfy and light, and I like them. (don't currently own a pair right now though)

I got a pair of New Balance b/c I talked to the guy at the store and said I get ingrown toenails a lot and my feet/toes always get squashed in the shoes. He showed me the New Balances that now come in many different widths (Nike was always WAY too narrow). I got some New Balance 4E (I believe they are 4E). My toes actually have ample room now, I could feel some air flow between my toes to keep them cooler, and I will NEVER buy anything different for a running/workout shoe.

New Balance for life yo! ;)

Not all their shoes are made in the USA...

same here. flat, 4E wide feet. NB always seem to be the only brand with wide widths. I have found a pair of Asics with wide width recently and decided to give them a shot. I think I like them better. The heel cushioning is awesome.

HOW?! We live in the same area, or are you talking about school? I've tried Shmithaven, Walt Whitman, and Roosevelt Field.

I did not know that. My label says Made In USA of imported materials.

To each there own. I am a regular runner (marathons, etc) and have worn just about every brand of shoe to try them out. For my feet and running style, Nike fit be mest by far. That being said, one of my running partners swears by New Balance. They are all good shoes, but everyone has different feet/needs.

Last time I switched I went from Nike to Adidas...bad idea. For whatever reason the adidas rolls outward and I ended up jacking up my ankle because of it. Went back to Nike and all is well, even though I'll agree Nike isn't the most comfortable. On the other hand, all the NB shoes I see look fugly.

The last pair of athletic shoes I bought were Reebok and that was several years ago. Are they still in business? Anyway, I buy sandals frequently and seem to switch between New Balance and Nike, depending upon which style and fit I like best.

At the stores around me, they've got plenty. Kohls on Hempstead Turnpike in Levittown, the Modells in Airport Plaza (Farmingdale). And then at the Broadway Mall in Hicksville they have 'em too.

NB has to be the best shoe out there for the money. It is also nice that they come in widths other than a standard width. I never realized I had a narrow foot until I went to a "real" shoe store (real as in not some craptastic palce in the mall with teenagers taking care of you) and the guy recommended me a narrow NB. I have not even thought about going back to Nike, Brooks, Reebok, etc. since then.
