I want the 30" but I don't want to buy a new video card. Why do I need a new video card for it?

Er, I guess it requires dual link DVI? Why the hell... damnit...

no.... fuckin'..... way.....

what kinda video card do you need?

you..... are to envy! ;)

Apparently you need the NVidia 6800. So, that's going to run, what, another 400-500 a card.

I thought only that 6800 DLL would work with it... and that only works with Macs? Does Xiety have a Mac?

I'm too tired to browse Mac Forums to find the thread where Xiety jacked an Apple customer's reciept.

You guys are pretty damn gullible. If someone told me they ordered two 30" displays for $6600, I'd ask for pics of their current digs.

Right now, looking at this picture provided by Xiety, he looks to be living in a bare residence resembling my old college apartment.

Hmm, do you at least know the title of the thread? You cant just accuse someone like that and not provide proof.

Dude, I think you are a prime candidate for nVidia's 6800U SLI set up. :)

The title of this thread is "New Apple Cinema Displays."

And the burden of proof is on Xiety. What do you think would happen if I started a thread about the new Lamborghini I bought (it's being delivered in a week, wink wink), and I showed you a picture of my middle-class 2-car garage with the Accord "I'm replacing"?

There is no nVidia 6800 for the PC that has dual-link DVI right now. However, there are plenty of nVidia Quadro cards, as well as 3DLabs cards.

Well, that's a big difference. Most people on AT could afford 2 of these 30" displays.... But we don't value them THAT much. Most of us, sadly, cannot afford Lamborghinis. Also, judging him by his place isn't really fair, some people have fantastic homes and crappy cars, some people have crappy homes and fantastic cars.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, simply because he's a diamond member. Can't wait to see those puppies.

1920x1200 resolution? Why not just go for 1920x1080 and get a true High Definition aspect ratio?

Because computer monitors are for work, not for entertainment. So, you get a full 1080p video + space below for your video editing tool bar.

Pretty much all widescreen computer monitors are 16:10 instead of the 16:9 standard.

Many lower res widescreen LCD's are 1280x768 instead of 1280x720.

Hey watch it now, when I bought these Samsungs, I paid over $900 for each  :) :p Oh well, you can search all Mac Forums as long as you want dude, or hire a private dedective :p Besides, why assume I will go to a Mac Forum and jack an Apple customer's receipt when I have better stuff to do? Also, in about a year, I am going to be moving after graduation, that's why I live in an apartment :)
