Not sure how they can compare Llano to Sandy Bridge. Sandy should be much superior in most apps of course game is Llano's turf.

They compare IGP's which no one on this forum cares about anyway

and all that power will allow you to do what? for a consumer product what are you more liley to be limited by?

can intel hardware accelerate 23.9 FPS video correctly yet?

Llano is meant mostly for Laptops.. so I guess it is pretty much a valid comparison.

Also.. I will not be surprised if they implement hybrid crossfire on laptop's. It would be neat..

no, i dont actual own an AMD cpu  . but lets be realist, taking a consumer workload, a laptop workload at that, what are you more likely to be limited by, will you actually ever be limited by the -20-25% IPC of llano to SB?

I'd take Llano over SB any day. Sure, I'd prefer a Macbook Pro 15 with an Intel CPU and a dedicated AMD GPU, but most people don't buy these types of systems. Llano is clearly better for a mainstream laptop.

I suspect you need a lot more coke and a few more multiple sex partners going on before you'd really get to know that feeling...:D

Llano is definitely gonna be in my next laptop. How long of a wait do we have on these?

gaming and productivity software at the same time. yeah my boss will want to buy 1k of these.
the benchmark that counts is LLano vs 2 core Sandybridge with full speed HD3000, intel i7-2630qm is not full speed HD3000, it's turbo maxes to only 1.1Ghz. I guess a further 25% in SB gaming performance is up Intel's sleeve without resorting to overclocking.

and you dont think AMD have the same, this is at comparable wattage. there is supposed to be a 90 watt llano part as well.

Can anybody else actually see images? All I see are pictures of a golden frog inside an ice cube. This is consistent in every thread recently that links to imageshack.

Is the desktop going to be like intels SB. 1 chipset for IGP and 1 for non-IGP? But both are AM3+?

Same here. Unless the hype doesn't pan out, but I really don't see AMD blowing this one so badly that I walk back across the bridge to an Intel IGP again. Fool me once...

I see the imageshack images, is it some kind of filtering being done at a national level in your case?

Is desktop llano going to be 65 or 90 watts for the quad core?

I can't remember where I read it, may have been XS, but the guy was quite confident that the top-bin quadcores for desktops are going to be 100W TDP. I don't think we've seen/heard anything official though.

Dirt2 showing 45-50 fps on the Llano, compaired to the 20fps the Sandybridge does it decent.

45watt TPD version is bound to have lower GPU clock speeds, and its only running 1.8Ghz. Compaired to the Sandybridge one at 2.0Ghz with turbo, useing 15watts more or so.

Okay for a Laptop but... was kinda expecting to see more of the gpu, come into play for games than just a 100-120% increase over the sandybridge's fps.

I hope that the desktop versions come with faster DDR3, and that you can overclock the GPU and CPU with the Llano (kinda sucky you couldnt with the Bobcats). If that happends could see these being popular with OEMs and lowend users.

Intels SandyB at 216mm^2 vs AMDs Llano at 228mm^2.

It ll be intresting to see if OEMs go with hybrid crossfire if they choose to put a additional discrete GPU in the mix.

Llano + hybrid crossfire 6xxx card (2 GPUs working together)
vs
SandyBridge + Nvidia card standalone (Sandys GPU cant work with a nvidia card)

would put nvidia and intel at a disadvantage in the OEM market (on the low end), nvidia would have to use bigger chip cards to be able to give simular performance (which means more expensive for same performance).
