Picked up a new 2500 today, but before I open it up I was wondering if it would be a good oc'r.
numbers are
axda2500kv4d y858048250134
aqxea0327tpmw

how do you figure what the numbers mean? Been to AMD site a few times but could not find anything related to steppings or the numbers on the chip.

i got the same motherboard but couldn't run 200mhz fsb
mine is rev 2.0 and said it was an ultra 400 on the front of the box (sticker)
but i don't think it has the nforce2 ultra 400 chipset in it tho

i don't even think it could hold fully 185 stable

does yours do 200mhz fsb ?

Dunno, have not tried it yet. Gotta get some coffee in me and I'll play with it this morning.
Got an Ultra 400 sticker on my box too. The highest I had it before was 169 with my 2200, I may have to pick up some memory thats better than the Samsung DDR333 that I have.

Well I just wanted to see if this particular chip was going to be a good oc'r. If not I can take it back and rummage through the others till I find a better choice.

I'm not too Athlon competant but they have AQZEA's out also, guess I should have read this one before looking at the other thread I just posted. Anyway AQZEA's are more recent I believe, someone correct me if I'm wrongo.

Ok, so far I have hit 2800+ (Barton) speeds pretty easy. Everything at stock settings, just bumped multi up to 12.5.
Running Prime95 for a while then we'll see what more I can get.
