We all earn reputations and are known by them. Generally speaking, we don't really form an opinion of anyone until we have a positive or negative experience with them. Unless of course, we decide to take someone else's word for it... and while that can be one way of protecting people from harm, it can also harm the innocent. As with anything, people will have different perceptions and one person's attention whore will be another's sweetheart. Some people have a taste for attention whores, and others find sweethearts distasteful.
I think what disturbs people about this thread is that they know even though it is not about a named person, it could be about any one of us at any given time, and that is unsettling.
My advice to you is this, OuterSquare...
Let people learn whatever there is to learn through experience. You don't owe these people anything, anyway. Just take what you have learned and keep reaching for your higher ground. That's all you can do, anyway...

I have to agree with Eakers here, it might be different if you posted that you'd been deliberately conned and lost large sums of money or property as a result but this.. this is airing your personal life in the worst of all possible ways.

The females (at least those of whom I know are female) who have graced this ridiculous thread all seem to have the same gripe and rightfully so. By declining to mention the person whom you accuse of what you deem to be inappropraite actions, you through suspicion on all female members. This is not only cowardly but also unfair. If you have issues with someone deal with them. If you fell these must be brought to the public's attention at least let the other party know and give them a chance to defend themselves. There are after all two sides to every coin. If neither of these are an option then perhaps you should just let it rest. I am truly sorry if you were offended or injured emotionaly or otherwise, but I assure you this is neither the correct venue nor the correct fashion to deal with this.
