If you have an answer perhaps you could articulate it. Something like "Hillary is divisive because..."

Obviously she's divisive because she's divisive.

So posts like this from someone I hadn't seen their history on I would get, but Jhhnn no thanks....you know your candidate is hated even more than Obama and he had major challenges in this space....to think Hillary getting elected would magically bring people on board who are against her now is sheer delusional lunacy.

I can't think of any democrat where that would be the case though. Republicans liked Obama just fine until he became the Democratic nominee, then they turned to hating him like the devil itself despite him being a pretty moderate president. It's not about the person, it's about the fact that they are on the wrong political sports team.

Naturally politicians will have their supporters and opponents, but I don't see how Clinton is more divisive than any other candidate.

I do think she's more divisive, but in large part for reasons I consider unfair (that is, her relationship with her husband and her gender, as well as the various BS perpetuated by Fox News and its ilk). When Bill Clinton was President there was a volume of dislike of Hillary that was, to my mind, completely disproportionate and unreasonable, and to me it was largely borne out of sexism. The idea of a vocal, strong First Lady was just more than some people seemed to be able to handle. Since then she has had the right-wing media tar and feather her over things that are mostly much ado about nothing in my view.

All of that being said, she is also not gifted with much in the way of charisma, and her overall demeanor is just . . . disagreeable. Certainly she doesn't do much to ingratiate herself to anyone without a strong bias in the first place. Still, she is exceptionally intelligent and quite well qualified, and I would vote for her 1,000 times out of 1,000 over Donald fucking Trump. If we as a nation are stupid and angry enough to elect a demagogue moron like him as the leader of the free world, we deserve to fall as a republic.

I agree, I meant that I don't see her behavior as divisive. But people are certainly divided over her.

So Hillary is divisive because she's been attacked by right wingers for 25 years.

I think that makes her detractors divisive, not her.

I can certainly think of a few that would be less, and also on the other side there were a few ...the challenge is that none of them were serious contenders for the white house.

She can't even lock up the women vote with those who associate as democrats let alone reach across the aisle to attract supporters, the dictionary definition of divisive should have her photo...folks either love her or absolutely loathe her, there is little middle ground...as eskimo said at least folks were luke warm on Obama before he took office and only after he was the nominee and won did people come to dislike him.

Vocal, strong..meh....more like willing to put up with a womanizer as a husband for her own personal gain, perceived as completely dishonest, in bed with big business/money...not trustworthy, as you said a personality that turns folks off, mostly other women....her being the leading democratic candidate is equally as much of a sign of a broken system as trump.

I won't vote for her period, and know a good deal of folks, and many women who feel the same way...she embodies what is wrong with the political establishment

I eagerly await the aggregated polling data that shows Clinton loosing women in a general election matchup with Trump.

Okay, but what has she done that is so divisive? The only thing you offered in that whole post was "willing to put up with a womanizer as a husband" which is a pretty shocking and revolting criticism in my view, though you're not the first to make it.

Let me give some examples. Donald Trump stated that illegal immigrants coming from Mexico are rapists, he suggested the Megyn Kelly was on her period when she moderated the Republican debate. He mocked a reporter's disability by pantomiming spastic movement. He spent years insisting the President Obama was not born in the United States, and thus not the legitimate President. These are examples of divisive behavior and comments.

Voting for President Camacho would do nothing to the political establishment except increase it's divisiveness and stupidity. It's really too bad the Tea Party never materialized into a legitimate third party so the Republicans could shed the crackpots and finally put up some decent candidates.

Why is it so hard for you to answer the question? Why do you think she is divisive? You think she's divisive because she stayed with her husband through accusations of sexual misconduct?

I can certainly think of a few that would be less, and also on the other side there were a few ...the challenge is that none of them were serious contenders for the white house.

the tea party was palin, bachmann and west, how the fuck would we get anything good from that mess?

Because then mainstream conservative candidates with workable ideas could survive the Republican primary process. Can't get much worse than the disaster they had this election.

Lol sexual misconduct. I see your spin is strong. Try to spin this...

"Clinton and her team have made a point of not describing the FBI's work as an "investigation," but alternately as a "security review" or "security inquiry." They've also noted that the issue was referred to the FBI not as a criminal matter but as an intelligence breach.
However, in response to a question Wednesday, Comey said he wasn't familiar with the term "security inquiry" that Clinton and her aides have used. The FBI chief said he considers the work agents are doing to be an "investigation.""

What needs to be spun? Does the fact that politicians and their aides try to use more positive language to spin a possible negative upset or surprise you? Are you new to politics?

If you are done flinging shit perhaps you can address the actual question that was being asked.

Well, yeh, but pandering to crackpots is what made the Repub Party what it is today. Hell, they depend on some of those crackpots, the richest crackpots, to finance the Party's efforts. Holders of great wealth are free to be nutty in ways that working people can't even fathom & to impose that nuttiness on the world around them.

You guys really don't get it, since when does someone have to "do" something to be divisive...public opinion rarely has to do with tangibles.

My point is that she is no better than Trump when it comes to general acceptance...folks pretty equally hate her albeit for different reasons. If she gets elected she is not, nor will she ever be someone folks will rally around, instead she will continue the divide and quite possibly further it....as I said before its somewhat sad that she can't even get the entirety of the democratic base behind her, shows how weak she really is in reaching out to people.

Just wanted to quote this because it is exactly correct. Anybody who says Hillary isn't divisive doesn't have a very diverse base of friends.

maybe the proper term is polarizing...though I'd put them about the same, possibly my ignorance...people seem to be OK with her or hate her and she is unable or unwilling to do anything to bring folks together, if anything what we are seeing is more of her pandering to the left as she combats Sanders which will just further alienate folks in the middle.

She represents what many seem to hate about politics, willing to do anything for personal gain even if it means carpetbagging, dealing with flagrant and unrepentant infidelity, publicly distorting the truth, and being perceived as in bed with big money....and on top of that she has a personality and a style of delivery that just turns people off, even women which you'd think would be the easy lock vote for her.

While I think the Trump is just as polarizing I do feel he is lucky as it seems folks don't have as much of an issue with him being "out for himself" in his past

So what you are saying is that it's not the candidate that's polarizing but rather the American public? Because, as you just stated, trump is just a polarizing and yet the public doesn't seem to be as concerned.

Nope, they still dislike him a lot more than they dislike her.

I figure she's doing pretty good considering 25 years of: she murdered Vince Foster, Janet Reno was her lover, she bore Chelsea by a man other than Bill...

Patriot Humor indeed.

News sites are reporting that Russia has over 20,000 of Hillary's emails, obtained by hacking her server. If this is true, how can this not be a problem? Negligent and she should have followed protocol, but apparently, she thinks she's too cool for that.

Did you see what the FBI director said about not knowing about a "security inquiry" and that they are performing an investigation.

Yes I did. She's just been lying again, actually making shit up......like that's a surprise.

Sanders is a smart man, staying in the race. If her shit hits the fan, he's the guy and has a better shot at beating Trump, than she does. The polls have been narrowing for Hillary against Trump, where they were double digits ahead of him months ago. Now looks like they are neck in neck. Of course polls are not much to pay attention to this early, but look at her recent W.Virginia results, compared to her 2008 results, where she did much better.
