Never change, AMD marketing

I like the indie/student/junior vibe their marketing dept. Gives off! Less corporate...

"Core is back 2014'' what do you think that means.

Hmmmm....ugh...yeah. Initial impression is amd is so poor they can't afford the money to roll out a good ad. Coming from a guy that owns amd video card and long time supporter of the "underdog". This video reeks of cheesiness and looks like something 2nd rate company would put out. Time to fire the marketing guys again.

I dont know why AMD does not invest in developing or making existing stuff compatible with HSA. For example, Handbrake, does it has an actual HSA implementation?
They should focus in this just like they do with Mantle.

More importantly, fire the guys responsible for hiring the marketing department staff.

What the hell did I just look at?

Applications "battle" for resources, but AMD is the Sally Struthers providing humanitarian aid so they all play nice.

I didn't think the video was bad, per se, but all the "core" references made me think of was Intel chips.

It just seems like a lot of ads: you remember the ad, but not the product. In fact, I am not even sure what chip they were trying to promote.

Maybe it was an Intel ad made by AMD to sabotage Intel by being so terrible. This ad in one fell swoop manages to associate horrible with Intel.

'You've got 1 week and a $2000 budget. GO'

AMD would be better off paying for some brief 'research' positions for a few dozen local university students and see what small teams of truly fresh minds could create with their idea. It can't possibly cost more than this crap, it would build some friendly rep with a local university, give students a chance to work in the world, and might actually have some cool fun ideas come out of it.

It would be better off putting that money towards R&D.

"Battles may be lost"

Well at least they're willing to admit it. Honestly, I liked the ad, but I dont think its going to convince anyone to buy their products. The performance speaks for itself.

Does this mean that AMD is actually going to improve their core architecture instead of trying to throw more outdated processor cores at the problem?

If so, I guess that the new cores will be red and carry lighted swords or something 🙂
