I have just moved to a linux firewall router (astaro security linux) for a firewall and dhcp server.
Previously I was using a mircosoft Broadband Networking Wireless Base Station MN-700 for dhcp and wireless internet. The basestation has one wan and 5 ethernet ports.
I can set the wireless base station to be in access point mode only ( it says with this no nat firewall or dhcp). Will it still work as a switch?
What i want to do is have cable modem connected to linux box, linux box to wan on wireless basestation and then connect my three computers to the ports on the wireless basestation.
So that it would act as a switch and i would still get my wireless interest.
would this work or do i need to buy a separate switch?
thanks
