OK, I'm moving into a 3 bedroom apartment in a few weeks and we need to setup something for internet access. We have boiled it down to 3 options (in order from least desirable to most):
1. Since all the rooms have cable, we each get our own cable modem and not even setup a network.
2. We wire the apartment ourselves with cat5 for a wired network to share one internet connection.
3. We setup a wireless network to share one connection.
I've dealt with cable modems are wired networks in the past, but I know very little about wireless. I am thinking we will need a router and then wireless nics for our systems. Two of us have desktops and one has a notebook. What are our best options for a router and for NICs? Also, our rooms are separated by closets and walls. Are the wireless networks capable of keeping up a good bandwidth even through walls, and shared by 3 systems? Any and all suggestions are welcomed. Thanks in advance.
