I look forward to Verizon explaining why Netflix worked fine before net neutrality was abandoned and now a few months later it works poorly. I really want to see what the reason is. I am going to guess they will use the Netflix has grown xx.xx% over the last 12 months and it finally pushed the network over the edge.

If Netflix is taking up too much bandwidth they why don't they just not allow them on their network? Isn't it because Verizon's customers demand that Netflix be available? I'm sure Netflix is not holding a gun to their heads to be allowed on. And after Netflix pays up to them, they still throttle it? That's not cool in my book.

Netflix accounts for one third of peak hours net traffic in america. It is beyond huge.

All of which is quite mystifying to me since there is hardly anything worth watching in their online selection, either in movies or tv shows. Its been a long time since I have used it, though I am a member

Netflix in other countries have a wider selection of movies and television that are, you know, actually good.

The stuff in the US library is a bit shit TBH. A few good things and a lot of small-time and indie shows/documentaries but not too much mainstream stuff.

You get the Netflix library corresponding to the IP.
Using a proxy/vpn I get access to the US library from Europe.

Not sure if that is the case. I don't have Time Warner and often have issues with youtube, especially on set top boxes like apple TV. Sometimes it is just unwatchable

I wonder exactly what that lawsuit entails. "Netflix is accurately representing the bandwidth in our network being throttled, and notifying the customer! They must be stopped!"

Actually... all the ISPs have to do is argue on the technicality of the word "congestion" as used by Netflix. If it is not the legally perfect term for what they can prove, then the ISPs will win that court battle.

Yeah I noticed randomly one day Netflix just started loading much slower, while my internet otherwise was just fine. It was right around that time, I didn't really look into it much but I am not surprised. Though now speeds seem to be good again.

When it comes to cable providers for Internet access it is controlled by YOUR local cable franchise operator in your county government. YOU can make a difference to the idiot that agreed to what is deemed acceptable level of service from them during the next cable franchise contract negotiation.

But I doubt YOU will do anything. Well, maybe you will bend over.
