He revealed the fact that that the American-Israeli relationship is based on a lie, the lie of seeking Peace. They already have all the Peace they need to do what they want. Perpetual occupation & ongoing expropriation are entirely acceptable to them, preferable to any Peace possible.

Yep. Netanyahu's big mistake here was to abandon the convenient fiction. Everyone knew he was likely lying when he said he supported the two state solution before, but like with the nuclear issue, strategic ambiguity was his friend.

It's nice to see the White House twisting his arm and not allowing him to simply throw his prior statements down the memory hole. I'm interested to see where this goes, but it had the potential to reshape the mutually destructive relationship we have had with Israel for several decades now.
