what date is this price with IR and MIR good through?
You say... for a $60 product with $40 in rebates, only 20-25% of the rebates get claimed? I would be very surprised if that was the case, seeing as most people buy the things because of the rebate.Originally posted by: Macro2
Don't feel bad, only about 20-25% of the rebates get redeemed.

Yeah, I know. Have used CDEX (Lame) which is good but kinda slow and also RealPlayer (Xing, I think), fast but not so good. The encoder that Nero distributes is the Frauhofer which is considered the best by some. I'm transferring an entire CD library (approx. 900 CD's) to a media server so may as well do it right. It just seems to me that Nero should be including this with the retail package. It is really a hidden gotcha. On the front of the box, big bold letters proclaim MP3 support and on the back major play is given to encoding and playing MP3's. It's only when you read the very very small print, sandwiched in between features, does Nero disclose that the encoder works for upto 30 selections, and the full encoder is "available at their web-site, no where mentioning that it is another $20...that's my complaint. There are a lot of free mp3 encoders out there. Razorlame, cdx, EAC....
A perfectly valid question. As for the person asking for the serial #: Why shouldn't you have to pay for your own software?

A perfectly valid question. I was only resorting to bummin' because I am so broke from buying all the hot deals that appear on this forum
My primary CD drive is a Plextor UltraPlex 40X SCSI. It does a pretty good job. It's also worth buying/borrowing a drive that has very high DAE speeds. Makes a huge difference when you're dealing with 100's of CDs.
