So I was playing some CS:S earlier and mentioned I had to log off in favor of some quality time with my girlfriend. Instantaneously, at least 5-6 people started ranting about how I'm lying and could never get any (granted, no one on this server even knows me), etc, etc.

I'd like to prove (to myself) that gaming isn't just for the socially handicapped anymore. So I ask you ATOT, whom of you would consider yourself a medium to hardcore gamer and still somehow find the energy to speak to the opposite sex and/or maintain a fun healthy relationship??

Maybe more importantly what TYPE of gaming do you do....as far as I can tell, the FPS fraggers get all the chicks. 😛

well, people assume only a socially inept nerd would want to specify exactly why he is leaving a server especially when you mentioned no one knew you. hence people started ranting...here's a tip champ...no one cares you're leaving.

I have built her a computer for Christmas (which she would actually like).... what she doesn't know is I will include HL2, CS:S, WoW and some other games as well.

I will convert her to the darkside!!! MUUUUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA ....ahem....

in my uni, im the only one i know that mods my computer... highschool a couple of my friends would
(basically it started with me buying an 800mhz HP to replace my 100mhz computer with 14.4k AOL... my good friend beats me out with his 1.2GHZ OMG dell... i saved up for a few years and buy a P4 2.4b and a sick MX440 then ti4200 and kept going, he gets a P42.8C and i sold him my 9700 pro.)

I would agree totally. I actually only did it jokingly as the 5 previous people that left did the same with full explanation... I was simply surprised at the backlash. Is it really that hard to believe that an educated, well mannered, professional 25 year old who has the ability to sustain a fun relationship might enjoy a little CS now and then?!

i see where's you're coming from and i'm not doubting that you have a great relationship with a wonderful girl. but if i was on that server pwning all you noobs and you said that to me, i'd fvck with you too...cause you know how many loser nerds say dumb stuff on CS, its almost like a habit to reply back...atleast with me it is.
