What BIOS are you using as well?

I am rock solid @ 311x9 = 2800mhz..

Seems stable @ 314x9 = still testing

320x9 craps out instantly.. Actually reboots, so I assuming it's my board and not the CPU..

I have removed my chipset fan and added AS, and have a fan in the front of the case blowing air near it as well..

!! Results please..!!!

I believe Duvie might be near the top with 330HTT.

Ya the OCZ solved it.. But even with my Hyper X I was able to run 295 ( 100 divider ) was stuck @ 241 for a LONG time.. Never thought to run the 100 divider.

Anand.. Bios 1.8 not the mod though..

But with a 100 divider, even with HTT at 300 MHz, your RAM speed is only going to be 300 MHz.

Exactly.. DDR 150 which is why I wanted different ram.. That was the only way I could get the high overclock.. It even allowed my CBBID to reach 2400mhz!

In my sig im at 311x9 (207mhz DDR 414) 2-2-2-5 1T

Haven't really pushed the ram yet...(Had a bad stick) So I am running with just 512 right now..

314x9 gave on me.. DEFINITELY the board.. There is no way I can run 311x9 all night long Small FFT's and MAX heat.. ( 2 different days ) but the CPU gives out @ 25mhz more..

Too bad this board can't do more!

I have never got above 300, the memory controller ram couldn't reach it, no 1:1 is not the way I OC LOL.

I am gonna kill Purolator soon...i ordered that same mobo the Friday before last, & due to some retarded screwups, i still don't have it.

TBH, if i can even get 280 i'll be happy 🙂

Well I love this chip, but I almost wish I had a 10x multiplier!

Once I get both stick of my EL platinum ( 1 was bad, only have one good now )

I'll leave it at 2800 and shoot for DDR 500 or there about..

My only problem is, that if my EL platty can do 267 HTT ( DDR 534..)

Going to change from the 133divider to the 166..

Even if i need 2.5-3-3-7 or even 3-4-4-7 1T it should be worth the gain..

Yeah my Venice 3200+ is waiting somewhere missing with my Neo2.

I picked the 3200+ because i had a feeling i might run into trouble with a really high HTT.

I figure HTT shouldn't be an issue with a 10x multi 🙂

bjc, how did you get 1T going on your ram? If you use A64 tweaker, tell me how you got that going, no go for me.

I have never used A64 tweaker, and really don't know how it works...

I am only running @ 207mhz right now (DDR 414) This ram takes that like nothing..

267 is a different story.. What ram do you have?

Up for more results..

I've got some Corsair TwinX, but what I'd like to know is how you got your ram at 1T. For some reason it doesn't give me the option to change this in the Bios. I think if you check CPU-Z you'll see that you're running 2T. By the way, I've heard this is only the case with the Venice and San Diego cores...

One last thing, a bit off topic, but this Corsair is crap and I'm looking to go OCZ. Since you've got the Platinum Revision 2, what would you recommend, that or the new Gold VX? If I had a DFI NF4 board I'd definately go Gold VX, but since the Neo 2 has less voltage control in RAM, I'm thinking what you got may be better...

My Corsair have no problem with the board...

It really sucks because Prime just ran overnight @ 313x9 but killed over @ 314!!!

DAMN IT!!!

This chip has MORE!!!

Duvie, any idead what Pastrojay is using for a BIOS, I wonder if it's possible that a different BIOS might allow a higher HTT, or if it's just a physical limitation..

Well It's ran for 11 hours @ 313 but I am going to run 311, just because I don't want the board running on the edge..

If i run the 166 divider, this stick of OCZ fails memtest @ any timings...

3-4-4-8 2t
2.5-3-3-8 2T

So it kinda suck that I am 2800mhz but DDR 414..

It's possible my new sticks might be better.. Hopefully I can run 2800mhz DDR 500-520!!

😀

So is the exotic (pricey) RAM just for the tighter timings? Because if it's just running at DDR 414 I might just go with budget RAM for my build...don't really care to pay double and get nothing from it

Well most get in the 260 range.. Some in the 285 range..

This ram only cost me $35 because I gave a friend my Hyper X 3200 since it works great, just not in my Neo2..

Considering 1 stick was bad ( but stable ) I now have 2 new stick of most likely TCC5, It would be SWEET if it did 311 @ the 166 divider!

Tried the 1.6mod BIOS, no help on the OC..

🙁

I just want to see if 2.9ghz i stable!

That was quite awhile ago so I bet he was using 1.37-1.41mod.....He likely modded his NB chipset with AS5 and an aftermarket cooler....

I have prime test at 330 if ppl need to see them as well as memtest and other benches, superpi, etc.....It is stable.....I usually not at that level cause I have been playing and going back and forth trying to get higher DDR speeds stable....I can run 8x330 FH for 3 weeks straight and not one issue or EEU...

ASide from adding artic silver, what is the best chipset cooler? I looked at SVC and they didn't have too much to offer..

I should probably watch as far as size too, my AGP card is relatively close to the chipset fan... So the smaller the better..

It's also possible this board just isn't going to make it either..

I can't seem to boot at over 323 for 2900mhz.. But managed to take a screenshot on one boot..

I would love to see what this chip is capable of on your board, it might not even need 1.6v for 2900!

I have only tested 8x335 which I could not get stable at voltages higher, ram speed lower and timings more conservative then I could get 9x298 all the way up to 9x300 stable....

I however for your sake will do some testing....

Booted fine into windows at 7x340 will run a quick memtest and a short prime95 and see if it holds and work up...I am using a 100 divider and cas 2.5-4-4-10, 1t, and vcore I left at my current 1.54v I was still testing in my other marathon testing....

Will see.... If I followed Zebos methodology I would have done this long ago but I pretty sure my long round about way will conclude that my board limit for stability is likely the 333 I mentioned above...Maybe I was too close to my cpu limit and do not know my true board limit yet...We will see....

Update: It completed superpi 8mb...memtesting now...I will let it run for 2 passes and then run prime95 for 30min to an hour....It doesn't appear to be flaky yet....

Also note I have never modding anything on this board including the NB chipset...

😀

Thank you sir, appreciate that..

I don't think it's worth it for me to invest a lot in a chipset cooler to hit 323x9..

Even from a cold boot up, it doesn't like that, and I don't think temps are a problem (within 15 seconds..)

Guess it's just time to face it, I've reached the limit! I still got higher HTT than most.
