Can't tell if news site is trying to emulate The Onion, or if it's just another great moment from idiotic small town America....

Pretty obvious its satire: Television running without electricity, Teachers desk levitating. If true it would be the greatest discovery in history.
Hah #2 is funny, Homogay agenda between Tyson and Nye.

htf do you guys watch this shit?

tried to watch the first 15 minutes of last night's EP (based on this thread) and was bored to tears.

Sorry if it's too highbrow for you. America's Funniest Home Videos was on at 6:00, though.

I ended up watching cesar milan on netflix for 2 hours because Comos was so damn boring. TMZ from 11-12 and TMZ sports from 12-1, much better.

Did you already know most of it, or are you just an idiot with no sense of imagination?

I couldn't get myself to give a shit. It was like watching a late night infomercial, but worse.

Seriously though, it was like something that you should be watching during school, not Sunday 9pm Fox.

I looooooove watching dull educational shit (as one single example out of many: I watch hours of "how it's made" when traveling) but Cosmos was boring on a different level.

TMZ?

Well then, next time Cosmos comes on you should just take your coloring book into the other room until it's over

I liked last night's episode a lot, though I have to confess I didn't really know much of anything about the Permian extinction before watching it.

You call that "comedy?" With no shame?

fuck yes. the show is comedic gold. it is by far the funniest show on TV between 6-630p and 11-1130p.

Can I join you?

If someone would pick a show about real-world harassment and slander over an educational show, then there is nothing we can do for them. A show like Cosmos will never hold their interest.:(

"Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people."

i don't watch it for the harassment or slander (i don't care about the celebs at all), i watch it for the 30 minutes of banter. it's like "the office", but better.

hate all you want, ya'll don't know what you're missing.

Is anyone else still annoyed by the weird cartoons that they use for the historical reenactments?

I thought that I'd be used to it by now, but... nope. Still annoying.

Nope not annoyed because I remember they could have done what the original did with the even cheesier live historical reenactments. At least the cartoons look interesting and different.

I don't mind the cartoons themselves, but the dialogue is terrible. One episode talked about how Hooke tried to take credit for Newton's ideas, and they wanted proof of Hookes claims... They told him "put up, or shut up". The fuck? Isaac Newton saying "put up or shut up"?

That was hard to watch

Love this show. This, Game of Thrones, and The Voice are the best shows on tv imo. It is by far the best tv show on these subjects with The Universe a distant second.

Watch from the first episode. It's great.

I love how it's virtually focused on absolutely destroying Christianity with scientific fact yet does it in a subtle way. :sneaky: ():)

Yeah, there was something in last week's episode where one scientist called another scientist's work on Continental Drift "Crazy girl talk". Yeah, I'm sure that scientists talked to each other like that all the time back in the early 1900's. :)

What are they supposed to say? "Forsooth! Thou shalt elocute thy theory or ceaseth to speak, knave!"

Not sure making it sound like Shakespeare in the park would be an improvement. You generally should try to communicate difficult concepts using the simplest language possible.
