I tell ya....if I caught someone trying to feed my dog poison dog food or antifreeze, I'd be on them like white on rice.

I'd actually beat them till their skull collapsed, but that's just me.

What you guys need to figure out is how to kill the murderer without getting caught. That's what he/she's done to the dogs.

Yeah maybe get the dog checked out, err i mean like an autoposyl cuz i saw on dateline once that some guy did that with anti-frieeze and he went to jail, so u might want to check it out. At least let your neighbor know, cuz killing animals is the worst thing, u should be shot for that stuff

I didn't get the tie in to the meetings? Were they bitching about dogs running loose, barking or what?

You said your pen was approved yet drew complaints already, why?

that sucks dude

Home owners associations suck, nothing but problems. its like living in an apartment and you need permission from the management to do anything, why even own a house if you cant do what you want. that myth about property value is a load of crap. that is what city/county ordinances are for.

I will never ever live in a home owners association community. If i want to paint my house a hot pink im going to do it and nobody can tell me i cant.

That is really, really sick, assuming it was an intentional poisoning. I feel especially bad for the H.O. association's president and his dog, where the situation is a little clearer.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but in my view there is no way anyone should be letting a pit bull run loose in a populated area, even a puppy-both for the safety of the pet and other people. Its entirely possible the puppy got into antifreeze improperly stored or dumped somewhere and was not intentionally poisoned.

Hopefully it was just an accident an no one killed the dog purposely if it was killed by someone. It probably isn't a good idea to let a pitt bull run free, not because they are vicious, but because everyone assumes that they are and freaks out as soon as they see it. They'll call the police and animal control swearing the dog tried to kill them.

Sad story :(

I'd have called the police by now if that was my neighborhood...that's an extremely criminal action!

In one of my freind's neighborhoods, 6 or 7 pets were poisoned and killed. After people learned what was going on, they started keeping their pets indoors to prevent further deaths. They never caught the people that did it.

Beg to differ... with antifreeze poisoning the organs slowly just kind of shut down, you basically go into a coma and don't wake up... that's not nearly unpleasant enough for someone who'd poison a puppy. Something slow and exceedingly painful would be much more appropriate... your local nursery should have foxglove plants :p A little digitalis purpureum, properly extracted.... fatal heart attack...

Update To all:

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear:

The neighborhood association: The president's dog was poisoned a few months ago, and it was a very short time after the "problem" where a lot of people weren't happy with the outcome. He FOUND the tainted dog food, and could see the antifreeze. Why he ddint' call the police, I don't know. He's got another dog, and he just keeps them indoors now.

I was approved for my 10X10 Pen + wood deck (just sits on the ground) that it was on top of. However, many people have not b!tched about it being seen from the road, and I've been asked to move it further behind the house which will require some landscaping, and cutting down a tree. I told them what it would be like before I put it up. Typical stuff. I'm going to do it, but only when I get some time b/c it's going to be a b!tch-----But, like I said.....I won't be putting my dogs in that pen unless I'm already home.

Two houses down from me, and 4 houses away from the President of the Association is where the puppy lived. In the little culdesac we're on, there's only two more houses, and everyone at least here is ok with dogs doing a little running. The dog died this past weekend, and I was out playing with it and my dogs on Tuesday. She was only about 3-4 months old at the most. I never meant to imply that I knew she was poisoned because I don't. I meant to imply that I suspected she might have been because she did run around a bit....... I don't deny that there's probably as much chance that she could have died naturally, as it was that she was poisoned.....but I'm not taking any chances with my animals.

The only tie in with the Pit Bull and the other dog (Pres of the Assoc) was the relative short amount of time where two dogs have both died suddenly--and those two dogs lived 4 houses away from each other.

I still miss that little ah heck. She sure was sweet.

---There was a big disagreement several months ago, and the president had to step in and settle it. There's about 100 houses in this side of the neighborhood....and a lot of people weren't happy. He said about a week after the meeting, he came outside to find his dog sick....

The president's dog was poisoned a few months ago, and it was a very short time after the "problem" where a lot of people weren't happy with the outcome.

So, you're saying the dog was killed because somebody didn't like the outcome of a dispute at the meeting. Did this dispute involve dogs at all? Why would your dog be in danger because of the way the problem was settled? In other words, this problem must have involved dogs barking, running loose, or something, right?

Very small amounts of antifreeze can be fatal. If a cat walks through a puddle of antifreeze and then licks its paws, it can ingest enough antifreeze to cause death. About five tablespoons can kill a medium sized dog.
