I had surgery on my shoulder a couple of months ago and it still needs to heal. I noticed Preacher curls work great and dont bother my shoulder at all. I can, and do, work my legs, but I need some more upper body stuff with little to no shoulder involvement. Thanks

Any specific exercise? I am aware of the different muscle groups. Its not completely unusable, not in the slightest. But if I target shoulders or anything that has moderate should strain, it tends to hurt quite a bit and I fear further damage

Take a break.

Wait until you're older and can't/won't ever be able to do the things you love. Here, no heavy bench for 20 years...dips, modified pushups. Knee is flaking out...no biking...Getting old. Find myself getting jealous watching track and field events even though I ran like a brick in quicksand.

6 mo after you're healed, you won't know or care. Muscle memory is a nice attribute to have.

Have you talked to your physician about resuming lifting? With a lot of rotator cuff surgeries, you aren't supposed to do any lifting whatsoever with that arm. The problem is that just because you aren't moving at your shoulder, you do have to utilize quite a significant amount of muscular energy and tension to stabilize the shoulder with elbow and wrist lifts. Are you or should you be in a sling at this point?
