Need to quit smoking, advice on Vapo Ecigs??

What a coincidence, I got my first e-cig a couple weeks ago in anticipation of quitting, and today is my first day smoke free.

I got a Kanger EVOD starter kit from Vape Dojo with the fruit e-juice sampler pack and so far I've been liking it. It does actually produce quite a throat hit, but not all the time. It seems to do it when I first take a drag/hit/whatever after not using the e-cig for like a half hour. Not quite sure why, but anyway it does work well so far. I plan on getting a Joyetech eVic or perhaps the Vamo V5 for home use since they're VV/VW with cool shit but they're also fucking enormous so I'll keep the EVOD for everyday use.

I've been using e - cigs for a few months now as well as my gf. I had a very nice Atmos vaporizer then lost it while I was working 🙁 Ever since then I picked up an eGo kit for like $30 and it works very nicely. The batteries last me 2-4 days depending on the frequency of use and you can find nearly any flavor you want, but beware some flavors can be pretty gross. Using vapes is a much safer alternative to smoking but you should be careful if you have small children or pets. Keep the e - liquid out of reach because it can be dangerous if swallowed. Good luck on quitting, it's helped me quite a bit.

For juice, I suggest the following: Mt. Baker Vapor, VapingMe, Seduce Juice, Vapor Chef. Some key terms to understand when purchasing juice:

PG: Propylene Glycol - Gives you the throat hit when vaping.
VG: Vegetable Glycerin - Helps in producing more vapor. Makes the juice thicker.

I typically bought 20/80 PG:VG @ 6mg nicotine, but am now at 100% VG @ 0mg nicotine. Higher nic content tends to burn and sting, but you will probably need it depending on how heavy a smoker you are (were 🙂).

IMO, stay away from the e-vic. It works...and has some programmable features, but it's a PITA sometimes. A few days after I got mine, I heard it called "The iPhone of e-cigs." 🙄 If I'd have heard that sooner, I wouldn't have bought the thing. 😛

evidence suggests otherwise.

Nah, I agree. Wellbutrin sucks. I tried Zyban in the late 90's to help stop smoking. The stuff turned me into a raving lunatic...

No you fuckheads...even worse than normal.

I was "wound so tight" that the company I worked for took me off the road. They were afraid I'd go ballistic and take out some asshole who cut me off in traffic. :whiste:
I stopped taking it.

Just go cold turkey, curl up in the fetal position for two weeks, and then start chewing Doublemint or Orbit furiously for a few years. Gain weight and let your heart kill you instead of your lungs.

PS when you start horking up tar for months on end it will be great.

i know literally 3 people that successfully quit cold turkey and dozens that quit cigs via vaping.

many of which quit everything together.

general public is just pretty ignorant to exactly successful vaping works as a smoking cessation device.

vaping is getting big at my company since they imposed a 80.00 a month fine tacked onto your health insurance for tobacco use.

I've already tried the Njoy and Blu ecigs and found them very lacking. Very little vapor and very little hit in the lungs and throat.

I've been looking into EGO ecigs (vaping) as they aren't very expensive but have a much bigger rechargeable battery and produce a lot of vapor.

Anyone here that uses one have any recommendations??

Thanks!!

I use an eGo-T. Gone from 40-50 a day to 0 in the last 5 weeks and 3 days. Seriously not even a puff. Tried patches, gum, spray you name it in the past and it didn't work.

Just "stepped down" from the 24mg liquid to the 18mg and am still going strong.

P.s either keep a spare battery with you or go for the larger cells to make sure you don't run out.

The best advice I can give is to not toucha cig after you start using it. I know several people that are using ecigs and smoking at the same time and it isn't going well for them. Just make it a clean break. If I can do it anyone can. 😀 GL

It also makes you feel good, when someone asks...how did you quit ? And the answer is, I did it all on my own. With no help from anyone or anything. Hell...smokers start on their own dont they ? Why not quit on their own ? Im proud to say, I did it all myself.

100% VG can gunk up your coil, but I've not experienced that yet. I've recently gotten into rebuilding my own coils for my Protank 3. It's made a world of difference.

I enjoy nicotine, it's the delivery mechanism that's causes problems. Or are you one of those straight edge, drug free types?

To each their own. For me, anything that gives me withdrawl symptoms simply because I don't have it in my system, is an issue. Again, that's just me though. The bang for buck just isn't there in my opinion especially with actual cigarettes as you are paying to kill yourself. With e-cigarettes you are just paying to feed an addiction and/or fit in with other addicts.

Opinion.

When I first quit smoking I quit everything cold turkey. After about a year or two I started chewing nic gum and using snus because I like nicotine. I'm not a big coffee guy and don't like the way caffeine makes me feel when I'm not in the mood for it.

I am a big fan of being able to choose what I put in my body in the way that I want to do it. I tried being drug free and it isn't a lifestyle choice I will make again.

I smoked and dipped from high school until 29 yrs old. Quitting smoking was easy because I hated it. Giving up dip was a good ride. I switched to pouches first and then quite cold turkey. I'll still have a cigarette every other month or so when I get too drunk.

It turns out endorphins are way more addictive than tobacco.

I hate to kind of derail, but are there any ecigs that have stuff without nicotine? I enjoy the act of smoking more than the high itself and have always been wondering about this. I'd much prefer just to have something with a mild flavor and the actual feel, rather than a cigarette.

Quit cold turkey last March.. It helps that I try avoid situation where I'm tempted to smoke. People that I deal with on an everyday basis are mostly non-smokers. It wasn't my intention to avoid them but that has certainly helped me maintain. Also started working out after I quit, too which made me get health conscious.. to a degree (you can't smoke and maintain cardio..).

I know jackshit about e-cigs or gum/drugs. People get too dependent on those products, imo.
