I fall into the camp of "Why wear a watch when you're carrying a cell phone with a clock on it?"

My watch is a Motorola.

mechanical watches require no batteries

They do heavily recommend servicing every 5 years, which often costs ~$100 on mediocre watches. Who knows for like a rolex how much.

Mechanical is really not worth it to most people.

I knew nothing about watches until a few weeks ago when my GF wanted to buy me some early Christmas gifts that I could pick out myself. I'd say that Seiko and Movado are about equal in terms of quality. They just cater to different tastes. The Seiko you could wear for anything. A Movado is for someone who has a good desk job or wants something when dressed up and going out. I went with this Wittnauer watch though. It's a nice new style that makes most Movado's look outdated.

Oh yeah, I also got a new Samsumg 930B 19" LCD monitor with DVI cable from her that same day. :)

I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Let her win. You are arguing with a woman over something so insanely stupid it defies logic. If you prove her wrong, which you won't, what have you accomplished? Absolutely nothing. Just let her win and go on enjoying your sex life (assuming of course that you have one).

WINNAR!!!!!!

Thanks, I try to help whenever I can. ;)
