Hey guys,

Well after that discussion about me getting pissed about my parents buying those stupid tvs was correct. The interior designer was asked for an itemized list of items purchased as well as all the listed materials.

That was 4 weeks ago, he has blocked my parents email address (I have a copy of the postmaster reply), and doesn't pick up the cell phone calls of both my mom, dad and the construction people that he helped hire.

I have his cell phone number and I need to do a reverse look up on it so we can mail him a registered letter and if necessary, sue him.

Any suggestions as to how to do this?

Cheers,

Ryan Sengara
Is that the thread we basically verbally beat you down and called you a moron because you had no idea what you were talking about?

Oh yeah, that WAS you.

And I was right. my dad ultimately decided on the Sharp Aqous.. because he could't justify the additional expense for not that much better quality.

Thanks!

You were right, huh? Maybe your dad won't kick you in the face for recommending him an LCD that has a serious banding problem.

Should has stayed with the Sony genius. The Sony XBRs LCDs have some clouding issues, but it's MUCH better than having banding issues. People are dumping their Sharp Aquos by the truck loads (92Us to be more specific).

For the price point difference it was worth it, in his opinion.

Like I said earlier, be as self righteous as you want, atleast he's in the position to buy 4.. at once.

2 of the 4 being sony bravia's anyways.

I have the guy's name, and I have his cell phone number (and it's not disposable), he's not smart, he gave a fake address.. thats what first clued us into the fact that the guy is a fraud.

The next thing is that he took off to Toronto, and lied saying he was busy on other projects.

smart enough to steal $4500 of your parents' money though, huh? PWNED!!11!1!!
how do you know the name he gave is real and the cell phone is real or not a pre-paid one? i mean, he did give you a fake address after all.

I believe pre-paid and regular cell phones have different prefixes.

They don't have to

Roger's prepaid bills to a credit card here, I might be mistaken though.

Regardless... I got the info.. and I'm looking at a goggle earth picture of his house.

You misunderestimate the bipolaresque cheapness/lavish spending of Indian families. It's all about looking rich while actually acting like cheapasses.

It seems to be a popular thing around here among some Indian families to buy used luxury cars and not transfer the title to themselves (drive them until the tabs expire and then sell it off) so they don't have to pay for car insurance.

We have the titles on all 4 cars... and up here insurance runs a little bit different.

I wasn't suggesting your family did that, just that some Indians around here do it. I think it's predominantly Indians who are working here but are not citizens, though I'm not sure about that.

It's true enough, Indian people are heavy cheapskates, and many of them have credit ratings that are terrible b/c they bounce checks.

for all the money your parents seem to have no problem spending they sure turn cheap when it comes to resolving a dispute...

why not hire a private investigator to hunt him down if pissing away 4500 is no problem for them...instead they turn to you..so what will you do when you find him...ask really nicely for your money back?

how about you suggest they hire professionals to take care of this....like their lawyers for one

I don't think you've read.

Send a registered mail announcing our intent to sue if he doesn't give us our money back or if he renders said goods.

If he doesn't reply within a week of recieving the letter, go to the cops and get my uncle to get the legal ball rolling.

The cops don't care. They will tell you it's a civil matter and to sue the guy in small claims court.

Wouldn't that be theft?

Maybe I'm just.. being a total idiot.

Failing to provide services paid for?

Seems like theft to me.

Is that the thread we basically verbally beat you down and called you a moron because you had no idea what you were talking about?

Oh yeah, that WAS you.

And I was right. my dad ultimately decided on the Sharp Aqous.. because he could't justify the additional expense for not that much better quality.

Thanks!

And you think Sharp Aquos is any better? Apparently you've missed all 1000 threads on avsforum about Sharp's banding issues...
