They have a lawyer, my uncle, he was a supreme court justice aid.

They, however, don't want to have to go through the pain of having to go through court procedures, and time, they already started the project without him.

Unfortunately it delayed construction by a month and a half and I'll have to live with my grandparents over the summer because of it.

They would rather just get the materials (if they even exist).

Regardless, in order to start a civil case they need to start sending registered mail, and show proof that this guy has not been providing for services rendered.

Having a registered letter bounced back from his address would be a start. No?

Eventually they will cut the cord and you're SOL. Quit being a leech.

You misunderestimate the bipolaresque cheapness/lavish spending of Indian families. It's all about looking rich while actually acting like cheapasses.

The payment was for the new bed my parents ordered, new drapes and blinds for their bedroom, new fabric and all the other stuff.

We're real cheap.

Really really cheap.

I'm only back in the city at all because I'm back from University.

I'd rather live with my grandparents so I can help work on my grandpa's boat and help with the blueprints on his new one.

Hmm... admittedly, I've never worked for Indians. While OTOH, all the rich successful white/Jewish/Korean families I've worked for keep lawyers on retainer 24/7/365. They don't take a piss without lawyers being consulted and documents signed.

Well after that discussion about me getting pissed about my parents buying those stupid tvs was correct. The interior designer was asked for an itemized list of items purchased as well as all the listed materials.

That was 4 weeks ago, he has blocked my parents email address (I have a copy of the postmaster reply), and doesn't pick up the cell phone calls of both my mom, dad and the construction people that he helped hire.

I have his cell phone number and I need to do a reverse look up on it so we can mail him a registered letter and if necessary, sue him.

Any suggestions as to how to do this?

Cheers,

Ryan Sengara
Is that the thread we basically verbally beat you down and called you a moron because you had no idea what you were talking about?

Oh yeah, that WAS you.

And I was right. my dad ultimately decided on the Sharp Aqous.. because he could't justify the additional expense for not that much better quality.

Thanks!

1st heres some solution.
Go to phone book websites and do a reverse lookup. Of course u dont find jack sh1t but there will be an ad saying 1public record found - buy it for 14.99 or something like that... If you go to multiple websites I am sure one of them WILL give you that option. Never personally used it - but doesnt hurt to use it with a virtual CC...

This is the biggest problem with United States of Mother Fvcking America these days. Everyone wants a CHEAP alternative. Instead of going to a reputed interior designer ur parents went to some cheap *ss south of the border dude I bet. Everyone wants cheap foreign labor, outsource everything to India, China and whatever and lets all flip burgers for them

Yllus doesn't know what she's talking about.. if my dad was hard core east indian my dad never would have married a white woman.

The similarities with my dad and the typical brown guy end right about there.

I'm not.

Anyhow, the guy was referred to them, so my mom is having it out with her friend over it that referred him to her.

you nor your parents know the guy's name or any info other than his cell phone number (which is probably pre-paid and disposable if he's doing this kind of thing and smart).

I have the guy's name, and I have his cell phone number (and it's not disposable), he's not smart, he gave a fake address.. thats what first clued us into the fact that the guy is a fraud.

The next thing is that he took off to Toronto, and lied saying he was busy on other projects.

It seems to be a popular thing around here among some Indian families to buy used luxury cars and not transfer the title to themselves (drive them until the tabs expire and then sell it off) so they don't have to pay for car insurance.

Well....you may be in the wrong forum to look for advice then. While we're not all American here, most of us are...

Anyway, how did your mom's friend refer him to her? Did she just give your mom the phone number? If so, why don't you, or a friend of yours, or a friend of your familys, setup a sting??? Get him to come over to a new "client" and have your dad there to take care of business.

Have the cops been notified?

We have the titles on all 4 cars... and up here insurance runs a little bit different.

Because I called his number, when he denies my call it says 'This Rogers customer is currently unable to take your call right now'. Rogers is like cingular up here.

I got his address 1111 5th Ave New West BC

I believe pre-paid and regular cell phones have different prefixes.

Since I got his address, they'll send a registered letter, in the off chance he has a legit excuse (though that seems awfully unlikely), if not then the cops will be notified.
