I'm looking into getting a 32-36 inch HDTV for christmas. Mom doesn't want a widescreen and there isnt really enough room to get one of those tall 52 inchers. Trying to keep it around $1k.
I was looking around BestBuy yesterday, and suprisingly, the one that looked BY FAR the best was a 32'' Zenith. The picture was so much clearer and crisper than all the other similar TVs sitting nearby (Sony, Samsung Toshiba, etc.). There might have been an issue with how the other TV's were set up however, as they all seemed to have a picture that looked kind of compressed with visisble artifacts. The edges were also not nearly as smooth and crisp as they were on the Zenith. I know they were all running in HD mode because they still looked much better than the standard TVs, but I can't figure out why that one TV looked so much better than all the rest.
Ok, I need some suggestions on good TV's: 32-36'', HD, not widescreen, trying to keep it at $1k max.
