IIRC 512MB doesn't do much for the X1800XT so I'd suggest saving some money and getting the 256MB version.

That would be your best bet IMO if you can't get in on the Dell deal (X1900XT for $~350).

Welp, unless anyone has serious things to tell me in getting the x1800xt over the 7900 GT, speak now.

It still irks me that it's cheaper, but hey, i'm all for that, assuming i'm not getting gyped.

Unless you plan to overclock 7900GT, for example to 550/1600 speeds, stock for stock X1800XT will be faster. For $289 it sounds like a very good deal without breaking the bank.

X1800XT 512mb vs. 7900GT
X1800XT 256mb vs. 7800GTX 256mb = 7900GT stock

Well ok. That article seems to be extremely poorly written, and doesn't take into account the myriad benchmarks i've looked at, and the extra features of the x1800xt.

So all I need to know now is, is it worth spending extra money on the 512 version?

Welp, there we go. I did more research on various other sites, and it generally seems to boil down to fanboyism on which card most people prefer.People showed benchmarks that gave both cards the advantage over the other, so i'm gonna go with ATI as that's what I currently have, and the AVIVO thing looks really nice. Thanks for all the help guys!

Now, if I have some extra dough, I might grab a better cooler. That VF700 Zalman thing seems to come hotly recommended. (Ha! Pun!)
