DJ Sammy - L'bby Haba

Dj Sammy - L'bby Haba (this one is bass thumping a bit though :p )

Gielen Feat Alice Deejay - The Lonely One

Gielen usually makes more hard core stuff, but this is one of his lighter stuff.

Shudder at the sugar-coated Britney Spears electronic shit. Did you read the OP?

What Britney Spears sugar coated shit?

I had only one vocal track (I removed it)...and the only reason I did was that I couldn't find the non-vocal version of it but the music itself is definitely soothing like the OP requested and wasn't hard bass thumping.

You are going to tell me Binary Finary and Three Drives on a Vinyl don't fit the description either?

Hell no, those tracks are the epitome of cheesy, cliched late 90s 140bpm stadium trance. They're the total opposite of downtempo. The only thing more opposite would be some 180bpm gabber non-sense.

This is downtempo. This is ambient. This is 'ultra' ambient.

Well, from what I read, OP didn't specify ambient, he mentioned not wanting something that was heavy on bass and that's what something like Three drives on a Vinyl and Binary Finary 1999 are, not heavy on bass and they do drown out background noise pretty well.

And for the claim that Binary Finary 1999 is cheesy.....JEEBUS....one of the originals in it's genre.

I like Ambient don't get me wrong I listen to ambient every now and then, but how on earth are classics such as Greece 2000 and Binary Finary 1999 cheesy? What's next? Charka - Home is cheesy as well?

That's some of the many we listen to or cover. Yes I meant Vladislav Delay.

Finally, someone knows what I'm looking for. Too bad Woob isn't on itunes.

Honestly I sampled about half of the artists mentioned above and I couldn't stand any of them at all.

I really like Woob but it seems the only way to buy it is on CD and it costs > $200.

Obviously the half you sampled didn't include my recommendations! :)

Seriously though, I'd be interested to know if you like Dzihan and Kamien. And Ratatat - those guys are great.

You might also like Frolic. It has minimal beats at times.

It's just one CD but it is out of print and seems like it was never produced in volume to begin with. I can't even find any sites that let you buy it digitally either, or can I find a torrent for it. Grr.

Damn, took me 2 hours but I finally found Woob 1194.

I had to go to one of those shady Russian mp3 websites, which redirected me to another site. The SSL certificate was invalid as well. Just when I was about to say f*** it and put in my cc info anyway, I got an email saying that I got 10 free song downloads for registering, which happened to be legit. So I was able to download the album for free. The siteis mp3sale.ru if you are interested.
