<< Now, the bill for a trip to Catalina Island that i booked comes. Gotta pay it by wednesday but I can't access my financial aid until next friday, August 17th. >>

Since no one else has mentioned the obvious, let me be the first... cancel your trip to Catalina. Paying for a vacation by pawning a gift (not to mention a fairly useful tool for your studies) is downright stupid. Using your financial aid to pay it is even dumber. Take your vacations when you can afford to take them, and travel according to your means.

You're not even 18 yet, and you seem to already be laying the foundations for a financial future that looks pretty bleak - if nothing else, that you are planning for the day when you are old enough to get a credit card so that you can get a cash advance should throw up a big red warning flag for you....

lol, no kidding. Is going to Catalina worth taking a potential several hundred dollar hit from pawning a grad gift?

If you're determined to sell it - you'd get a better price by far by putting it up on FS/FT - not that selling grad gifts is smart by any means.

Get the money from your parents - you just graduated HS, what can they expect you to do w/ your summer.

Well you should think about the road you are headed down. Spending student loan money on a trip to Catalina? All you rmoney that you saved is already gone? Go ahead and pawn it. Maybe that will teach you a valuable lesson.
