Personally, I'd go with either this X1800XT for $289 or an X1900XT for $335 + tax. The X1800Xt will be slightly faster than the 7900GT and cost a lot less and for about the same price the X1900XT will put the GT to shame.

Definition of fanboy: Making claims that one particular company is better than another without giving any reasons to back up your statement.

Liking Nvidia cards is fine but at least give us some reasons for it. Come on. :disgust:

wow, never seen so many discounts and rebates stacked upon each other! If it's actually true (anyone ever try it?), it's defintely a great buy!

btw> what kind of 3dmark05/06 scores are you getting Elf?

I'd go with the X1800XT, its as fast (if not faster) has better IQ, AVIVO (could be useful to you) and its cheaper.

Ya, if you are willing to go through a few extra steps the cards from Dell are a killer deal.

I'm stuck at ~13,450 right now with cpu@2.9GHz and gpu@clocks in sig. Haven't tried '06 yet.

If you would take a 7900GT over an X1900XT you're the biggest fanboy I've ever seen. I'll never understand fanboys- they always lose.

Alright, I have on order but can cancel a HIS X1900XTX for $430 ARs. Luckily, I get the Dell SB emails and have a coupon. The ATI 1900XTX at Dell comes out to $460 but I don't have to deal w/ Monarch and HIS rebates.

But what intrigues me is the X1900XT for $385(including taxes). Is the X1900XTX worth $45 more? Thx for reading

No way. $45 more for 2-3 FPS? If you really need the extra speed, you can overclock beyond XTX anyway. Mine gets to 690/1565 pretty easily.

If you're interested in bundle deals and low-maintenance cards the ASUS deal should be nice. If you want performance, though, the X1900XT deal should do you much better.

first of all thanks for helping me make a toucgh decision, i was really stuck on 7900gt when i first started out. but somewhere out there reading all your posts and keeping an open mind about it, things changed.

no i am not an nvidia fan boy, i go with the perfrmance, i tend to give both a chance but in this case i went with the x1900xt from dell

for that i had to buy a coupon from ebay for $15 which worked, (i will put out the coupon code in this forum as soon as i get the confirmation) and then paid $12 for 2day delivery. and $25 tax.

as for those who had to put up a business name in there to continue the order, put home or personal.

The net cost with everything came to $367. good buy

thanks all
