I need some help.
I purchased a phone from UK, but the phone is apparently locked to only T-mobile UK.
The phone isn't working with T-mobile USA.

I have contacted, T-mobile UK and the told me that I need a UK originated credit/debit card in order to purchase the unlock code.
The cost is 15 pounds.

I will of course, send you the 15lbs + a lil extra for this help.
What this process will require is only a lil bit of your time and an Email to T-mobile UK customer service.

LMK if you can help. If you have a T-mobile account, that would be better.

Your phone can be unlocked at a cost of £15.00. However, T-Mobile cannot
guarantee that all phone features will be compatible with other networks and in
some cases a live sim card is needed to unlock the phone.

To apply for a subsidy pin on pay as you go, you will need to have made your
first top up at least 3 months ago.

Payment can be made by topping up your account. You can do this with vouchers,
an Electronic Top-Up Card or by using a UK registered credit/debit card if one
is registered to your account.

Alternatively, if you pay your bills monthly the charge can be applied to your
account. You will also need to:

- Have held your T-Mobile account for at least one month.
- Have not requested 3 subsidy pins in the last 12 months.
- Know that if you are still in contract and decide to leave our network
cancellation charges will apply.
- Have cleared any outstanding balance before the subsidy pin is released.

If you would like to apply for the subsidy pin, please provide the following:

- IMEI number, this is a 15/16 digit number on your phone underneath your
battery.
- Your mobile number, name and account password.
- Payment of £15.00.
- An alternative contact number.

Please allow up to 28 working days to receive the subsidy pin code.

If you do not have a password, please register one by visiting
https://www.t-mobile.co.uk/contactus This will then allow us access to your
account whilst ensuring that we comply with our Privacy Policy.

If you are already abroad, you can also apply for the subsidy pin by calling
Customer Services on 0044 7953 966150, international rates apply. Our advisors
are available Monday to Sunday between 7.00am and 10.00pm UK time.

I'll see if my bro can help out.

He is a T-mobile customer and see if he can do it. I'm not on T-moible.

I have a TMobile Account...

But I'd just find a TMobile authorized dealer. Take the phone to them, and tell them that you bought the phone and want it unlocked. They should be able to take care of it there.

Or go to TMobile's website and call their customer service.

I contacted T-mobile USA and they said they are not affiliated with the UK company. ( Seperate systems, accounts etc...)

I asked if they can email T-mobile UK to get the unlock code and they told me they were unable to do that.
So I have to contact T-mobile UK directly, but they require for the person to have a T-moble UK account :(

I have a T-mobile phone that I bought in the US and was able to use in the UK. You have to go through your menus and change the frequency. For my phone (Samsung S105) it is Network Services -> Band Selection -> GSM 1900 for use in US and GSM 900/1800 for use elsewhere. Hopefully that will solve your problem.

The phone is on pay as you go right?

My bro has a uk T-mobile number that is on a contract. The number he has will be different to your number and same with the IMEI.

I'll speak to my bro when he is back.

What is kind of phone is it? It's pretty easy to unlock a lot of them remotely online...the Nokias are easy and most places only charge a third of what T-Mobile is asking

I'm not sure what plan it's on. Currently it's not on any plan.
It's a phone that I bought outright for $3xx.xx
The IMEI stays the same on the phone as each phone is assigned a specify IMEI.

It's a sharp TM100.
The only way I see that it's possible is that I either get a Griffin box (150lbs) + 10pounds for 2 credits.
Or
Pay T-mobile 15 pounds.

I prefer to pay t-mobile 15 pounds.

Get some GSM phone unlocking software,? Or a nearby phone shop may have the software + cable to do it.

IT CAN"T BE DONE WITH JUST CABLE AND SOFTWARE.
Don't you think I looked into it ?

It requires either the Griffin box + unlocking credits or T-mobile Only.
They haven't figured out how to unlock it without those two methods yet.
