The Thin Red Line.

Yes...this was stab your eyes out boring.

I nearly walked out of the theater during this movie.

Thats my favorite kind of movie though, where they really take their time telling the story. Thin Red Line is one of my all-time favorites.

There was a story there? I felt like Chevy Chase's wife in the movie Funny Farm after she read his first book.

Lots of these movies are not boring, you are all just lameasses with short attention spans. I bet you're all gingers too.

Calling lots of these movies "boring" just because they are epics doesn't make sense.

Another awesome, long, and interesting movie that appears to have gone unmentioned would be The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Braveheart might fit the bill as well.

Now if you want boring, you got those Lord of the rings movies, for whatever reason, they were good to watch once, but upon trying to rewatch them I am unable to pay attention.

I still haven't seen this one. I bought it at release too. Hard to sit down and watch a long movie with two little ones. It took a lot just to sit down and watch Chronicles of Narnia the other night.

Umm.. that movie that had Brad Pitt as a rancher or something. "A River Runs Through It," maybe?

Regardless, that was one hellaciously long and boring movie. I can't tell you if it was "epic" or not, as it was so boring I lost all sight of any plot.

edit: It was "Legends of the Fall." Thanks. Queasy.

Thank god someone else mentioned this so I don't feel so alone. This was really, really boring. I had to stop 2/3 of the way through. And I love virtually every other kubrik film. Most of the movies above are actually good.

Pitt was a rancher in Legends of the Fall. He was the son of a minister in A River Runs Through It.

Both movies were fairly long and boring.

Amadeus I agree with, but Amistad IMO is one of the most underrated movies of all time. It's a flat-out great movie. I own them both.

A movie that really was boring was "The Leopard". I might have cared about anything that happened in the movie if I gave a damn about Sicily, but I don't and I didn't.

Oh? Could you understand a thing Anthony Hopkins said in his speech at the end?

Once Upon a Time in America

from imdb:

tagline: As boys, they said they would die for each other. As men, they did.

plot outline: A former Prohibition-era Jewish gangster returns to Brooklyn over 30 years later, where he once again must confront the ghosts and regrets of his old life.

this movie is long and boring and epic... a boring gangster flick, starring Deniro and James Woods.

I don't find Apolcalypse Now boring at all, but I recently tried to watch the extended version, Apocalypse Now Redux, and holy moly was it dull (even though it had added nudity).

Ahh.. so long they ran together! :D

Legends of the Fall is the one to which I was originally referring.

I think I will go for Cleopatra.

4+ hours about something I couldn't care less about.

That should be a good brutal time for us in a few weekends, thanks.

And yes, Lawrence of Arabia sucked. It was hours and hours of people walking to the right. We all almost fell asleep during it.
