Hmmm...may you are right and I panicked a little bit. Looked further down the google list.

Blisters

The clear, watery liquid inside a blister is called serum. To awnser the dudes question.

 
The liquid coming out is just pus aka serum. Its not a huge deal. But if the blisters/bruises are quite large and you keep excreting pus, I would say go to a doctor. For now, just keep washing with soap, and maybe wrap up your hands with something. It is nothing serious.

It is not smallpox...unless you have red dots in areas.


BTW.. Not a doctor. Just a freshman in college, but a pre-med student.

Common sense tells me if you drank that much, got so sick, had those problems immediately following, that you were probably on the brink of being a NON-Entity. Go see the doc. 😉
 
You probably just did something stupid while you were drunk and you cant remember it. Seriosuly I dont think its anything more than a bruise or blister. Get some pics up and you might get more help.

Serum =/= Pus. Just because there is serum does not mean it is purulent. Pus is usually a collection of lymphocytes esp. neutrophils that do the phagocytosing of all the dead cells/bacteria when fighting an infection. It is usually thick like what you get when popping a zit, not watery like he described.
 
Sounds like you probably bit it while drunk and landed on your hands, go to the doctor if it hurts otherwise just keep it clean

 
sounds like a plan. i hope to visit a pharmacy tonite or somethin, that or a walk-in-clinic of some sort.

i doubt its smallpox or whatever cuz i would have flulike symptoms first right?

ive kept it clean, put some of that azn alcohol cleaner stuff or whatever into it. burned like mad but cleans it i guess.

FYI: The only known smallpox viruses exist in a lab somewhere in the desert. It was wiped out in the 70s.

LOL. Did you copy this out of some medical dictionary. Pus comes in different forms, it can sometimes be watery. Anyway, what do you suggest it is? It cant be anything else. The body does not produce other products that would collect in the hands. Unless somebody filled up a balloon with some other liquid and placed it in his hands, it is pus.
 
Sound like you were so drunk you were using the palm of your hand as an ashtray! Saw a buddy do that once, then wondered where the blisters came from the next day.

No, I'm actually in medical school. Liquid can collect in lots of places. It's called edema. Edema isn't usually pus. I'm not saying it's can't be pus, but most likely not.
 
so i got edema in my hands. interesting.

uhh i havent seen a doctor yet cuz i was pretty busy today... hope to do so tomm.

until then ive been using 'medicated oil' which has:

26.5% menthol

18.6% methyl salicylate

1.56% eucalyptus oil


burns like a b1tch, so its gonna be good, right?
