My 1999 Accord has developed some weird rhythmic noise from the wheels. I took it to my usual mechanic and he said the rear axle was bent and would cost about $225 to fix. I decided to get a second opinion and took it to another place and they tell me that the wheel bearing is shot in the front left wheel and that the front brakes are gone (which they decided to check because the brake light was on - the light that comes on when the *parking brake* is up
) and that it needs an alignment and rotation - total = $825. How could two repair shops come up with completely different diagnoses?
Does anyone know of a reputable repair shop in or around Cary that can give me the best diagnosis and a fair estimate?
