So, I have a date tonight. A real date, like... This girl from work (my IT job) asked me out to the bar here in town, I said yes. So, it's been a while since I've been on a real date (5 months to be exact). Now, I'm going over to her place to meet her, after shes done work, we both live within walking distance of the bar (about 15mins walk),

So, since neither of us are driving, what do I do at the end of the night?, offer to walk her home. Wait for her to ask me too?. Or say goodbye at the bar?

I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but perhaps in thr 50+ posts that poke fun at me, the 3 or 4 atot'ers who date regularily can provice some insight.

Thanks

I'd walk her home either way (if date is good/bad). What you do at that point is up to you

See how the night goes then decide. If it goes well walk her home. If not, say goodbye at the bar.

I think it may depend on how intoxicated both of you are.

If you appear more drunk than her, wait for her to ask you. If she seems a little tipsy, you should ask her. If both of you are just buzzed, then I think you should just go with the flow, and be a gentleman and just offer to walk her. But what ever you do, I don't think it'll be cool to say good bye at the bar.

BTW, what happened with your other girlfriend?

It's obviously very different circumstances. I actually like this girl. Anyone who I got paid from was just that, a customer. Ask anyone who is a stripper/prostitutue/bartender. Theres a big difference between the people you get paid to dance/screw/flirt with, and having a real date/relationship.

This is not a date.

This is having cocktails after work to see if the possibility of a date can happen.

Offer to walk her home. If she accepts your in, if not...oh well.

You're going to a club/bar and there are to be no cocktails?

I'm confused.

Look - easy way to break the ice with a co-worker is to ask out for cocktails. Still isn't a date. Its a "pre-date" to get to know each other a little outside of work.
