Hey this is my first post and I am looking for some insight into what processor I should get for my new pc I am building. I am on a budget and am trying to keep it around 800$ With this budget I am probably going to stick with AMD considering from what I have seen they are cheaper for what you get. But if there is an Intel out there with better bang for my buck, please share!
I want my pc to be able to run modern games like Guild Wars 2, Crisis 2, Arma 2/3, etc.
I want to choose between one of these 4 processors
AMD FX-4100 CPU (4x 3.60GHz/4MB L2 Cache)
AMD FX-6100 CPU (6x 3.30GHz/6MB L2 Cache)
AMD FX-8120 CPU (8x 3.10GHz/8MB L2 Cache)
AMD FX-8150 CPU (8x 3.60GHz/8MB L2 Cache)

I have been told that the 4100 has multithreading and that is good, but not supported by all games. I was also told that most of the time I won't even use the 8 cores if I get a 8000 series. So would my best choice be a 6100?
Since this is the CPU section, I won't go in depth into my video card choice but I think I am going to get the AMD Radeon HD 7770 - 1GB and my mother board will most likely be the Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 -- AMD 970 with 4 GB [2 GB X2] DDR3-1600 RAM .
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

800 bucks total? I could easily build you a killer intel rig for that budget

Wow thanks, that's impressive. I think I might get that, now to find a case to fit it all.
Edit: Just noticed all the sales are on newegg.com and not newegg.ca I will have to pay extra for shipping, but the sales should make it worth it.

Very good list.

And before any AMD trolls come in here.

AMD's entire bulldozer processor line is terrible for gaming.

It is absolutely the worst gaming processor you can buy today.

Stay away from AMD, We here cannot iterate this enough.

There is going to be this guy around here, his name starts with an A and ends with an A, you'll know when you see him.

He's a paid AMD representative, and is bent on selling you inferior hardware.

All of the statistics he posts are Fraudulent and doctored to paint a false image of the performance statistic of Bulldozer gaming performance.

Of which is HORRID.

That explains why they where so cheap.

Quick question about the CPU. Does it have a integrated GPU in it? If it does, wont it cost more than a normal one without?

All intel's mainstream processors have an IGP. You plan on getting the 7770 so you can disable it in the bios.

To add to that list, you see the $99 hard drive?

If you manage to salvage an older harddrive from another computer, you can put the extra $100 into the graphics card and get a 7850 which is a BEAST.. and overclocks very high.

Remember, this intel rig that Don put together for you is very overclockable. And will outperform any of the AMD processors you listed by a factor of 3 to 1.

The difference is really that huge. AMD is just a terrible buy, Please just get that thought out of your head completely. AMD = FAIL.

They don't look very expensive up front, however if you consider how poorly they perform, even at the discounted prices they're being sold at, they're OVERPRICED and thus too expensive. ;)

Boris does have a way with words. Let me put it in laments terms for you. The processor i listed for you is the best gaming processor on the market today. It will allow you to play any game out there with ease.

If you go to microcenter, see if you can talk to a guy and get a 2500k combo with motherboard for < $300, sometimes they'll do it. ;)

If it's a high end z68, pick that over a lower end z77
