I currently have a pair of Polk LS50 floor standing speakers in front, a Polk center channel and M2's for the rear. My wife wants to do away with the LS50's because they take up too much room around my projection tv, and I need space for a stero cabinet.
It is powered by an older Onkyo Surround Sound receiver.
I have about $400 to spend on a subwoofer and two front bookshelf size. Is there anything for that price that can match my LS50's? I am not really an audiophile but want some decent sound. The room is 12' and 18' with the couch across the long portion of the room. Can the Polk PS250 give me good sound? I listened to it quickly at CC, but it was not set right and sounded pretty bad. I have heard Velodyne's that can shake but are probably too pricey.
Got any suggestions?
