terrible advice on both counts. Everyone gets sloppy/loses a side at least once, if I dump 125lbs off one side of the bar, it ain't going to be pretty when the bar catapults.

Best advice for working out alone is either a cage/portable spotter or use dumbbells.

I use dumbbells for just about everything except leg work.
