OK. here is the situation. my IN-laws are always strapped for money. they live off my father-in-laws SSDI (Social security Disability income). which is not much. But to my surprise i found out they are doing good and making all the bill payments and there credit is getting good again.
Well my sister-in-law is living with a guy. I can't stand the guy. he claims he has done a lot of stuff which is not true. such as claiming to know a lot of "professional" wrestlers and such. Also that he has owned a few business's.
well one of the business's he claims to own is a chemical company. Once a month he drives into Chicago and picks up chemicals and delivers them and gets paid (he claims) $5k in cash. But they are always broke. though they have a huge king cab Chevy diesel he says the "company" owns.
Anyway.
He talked my in-laws into opening a shop in Rockford with him. So (i think. not 100% proven) the in-laws go and get a loan (not sure if personal or business) and they rent out a store and have purchased 7 laptops (for 4 workers) at least 8 desk phones (have cell phones now) etc.
now the wife and I are worried because my Father-IN-law is listed as CEO (remember this guy is on SSDI. and he has trouble remembering his address half the time). they say its no big deal because he is getting paid under the table (well will get paid. they have not made any money yet).
they are talking about getting CC in the business's name and such. Also my sister-in-law and her boyfriend were asking me about HDTV's. they are planning on buying 2 for the house (even though they can't afford it).
I should also point out my Mother-in-law has CC and other bills in her 15 yr old daughters name. i am worried they are going to do something and screw up her credit and the kid they just adopted (like a week ago).
so are we just being paranoid? i hate to see my Father-in-law get screwed out of his SSDI. the guy is just happy to be working and doing something. The guy is not to bright so i doubt he really understands what can happen.
Also is there a place i can call to have someone to check in on him? i think my mother in law and my sister in law are takeing advantage of him and the situation.

UPDATE newst thing
Seems my SIL and her boyfriend are buying a horse farm in PAW PAW IL. a 5acre property with barn.
we are really shocked. first off my SIL is on welfare/public aid etc. So how could they afford it?
His only job is the business. Far as we know it does not if it has made any money. but something must be going on.
i guess they go and sign closeing cost on teh 1s tof next month.
it just gets stranger and stranger.
I did a what looking i could on the guys name. but didnt find anything.
but then again maybe it is on the up and up.
2/28 update
OK. even more neat stuff!
the house is a no go. come to find out it was not a loan but a "rent to buy" teh guy wanted a few grand up front and they couldnt afford it. so the houe is done.
And so is the business already. I guess my SIL boyfriend took them in and told them they were "fired". Then cleared out the "shop" claiming they lost the lease (says they were on a month to month). he says the landlord kicked them out because the guy next to them wanted that space for more office space.
so bringing any of this up starts arguements heh. Not sure if my in-laws are out of money since they refuse to say.
