Ive gotten the MX518, seems fine so far, works like the old intellimouse 1.0 did except the middle button is a bit stiff and i have to get used to the new forward/back button position but apart from that its looking good *thumbsup* Im gonna try sniping with the on the fly sensitivity thing, should be good.

My game performance hasent suffered any like it did with the HABU, god that thing was awful... Anyways hopefully this mouse will last a lot longer than my old MS ones did :)

I had the same problem is the OP, but with the Silver IM 3.0. Just picked up a MX518 too, we'll see how it does.

The MX518 is good. I have used one for 4 years now and haven't seen any reason to upgrade.

If you have the original MX518 (there are two versions of it), you may need the uberoptions mod to use game profiles in the Logitech driver. Last I checked, it didn't allow them by default.

Nobody brought up the G500?? It has the G5 design, an extra thumb button, a free spin mode on the scroll wheel, and internals that outclass the G9. I don't know why you'd consider anything else (unless the ergonomics of the DeathAdder are just better for you obviously).

Well, I think the 518 is going back. It's to tall and heavy for me. I use what I like to call a "Relaxed Claw" style, kind of a half palming/half claw. I'm wondering if the G9 or a Razor or another Intellimouse Explorer 3 would do. I do play FPS, but not online.

i think you'll like the G9 then. there are good deals on G9 these days since the arrival of G9x.

I really can't be without my G500. after using it for like 2 weeks I couldn't stand looking at regular mice. it's got 3 buttons on the side and 2 buttons to adjust the mouse speed (you can bind them as well) and a scroll wheel where you can adjust it between clicking and hyper-scrolling. it has onboard memory(8kb/mb can't remember). 5700 dpi I believe, and has a slot for weights, I usually use all of the 4.5g ones because I don't like my mouse lifting off my desk in the first place, and with 5700 dpi, why would you? :)

G500.

I perfer the variable weight option which the G500 has and the 518 doesnt have.

what stops me from considering the naga is the limited functionality of the thumb buttons. they are not unlimitedly customizable like razer's other mice, or the other buttons on the naga. they are bound to the number pad, unless you are playing WoW or warhammer - then there is a game plug-in that will enable some customizations but not macros.

I like my razer copperhead, but really you should try different ones. My bro had a G5 and I like mine copperhead better because its a little lighter and less tall. G9 is better and about the same as copperhead imo. You could get used to either one though.
