Blood+ was great. 50 eps.
If you liked Samurai Champloo, I would give Cowboy Bebop a try if you haven't already seen it. It's one of my favorite series.
Noir was also a cool series. Give that a try.

Man I LOVED Champloo and Cowboy Bebop.... so well done.

Reading on Blood+... sounded cool until they mentioned it was primarily drama. I could tolerate Full Metal's drama because it's action/matchups, conclusion & style were so fucking ill. In fact, Full Metal is too good, from beginning to end, it's a cohesive, yet insanely imaginative, badass story.

Gonna go with Death Note!

Cheers

Also, does anyone know the name of an anime series... it has to do with 2 rival ninja groups fighting each other. It's got a ton of gore & the characters all have insane powers... very similar to Ninja Scroll in many ways.

Wait for Gundam 00 season 2 on October 5th!
Or watch the first season and then watch the second! Even better.

yes! It's only being released on PSP at the moment, but you can find streams if you google it.

Another notable anime is Code Geass the 2nd season which just recently finished last week. The plot is similar to Death Note with more of a Gundam theme. Watch the 1st season if you haven't yet.

Also, if you liked champloo. Definitely check out the movie Sword of the Stranger. The attention to detail in the sword fights and music makes it one of the best samurai action flicks evar!

Oh, didn't know Season 2 was starting, cool! Gundam in HD is nice.

Trigun is interesting, only 26 episodes IIRC.

Fullmetal Alchemist also has a movie that concludes the story. Its available on Netflix Watch Now.

Don't get into Bleach or Naruto, shit never ends, fillers are annoying.

Edit: Also, Gundam Wing.

Gundam 00 Season 1 was pretty good.

Dunno about Trigun but some say it's great.

FMA was decent, but I saw a English-dubbed one. I hate dubs. I prefer Japanese audio.

Bleach has some good moments, but like GPB says, fails due to extensive filler and drawn-out episodes.

Haven't watched a new anime series for a long time. Got out of my Anime phase a long time ago :p - Most recently I watched Yakitate japan and that was quite enjoyable, though maybe too long. 68 episodes for an Anime about Breadmaking? Welp, it was still pretty good (it's a comedy). Seen a lot of other anime series but didn't like much else besides Cowboy Bebop and Get Backers.

I'll have to talk to my main Anime friend to see what to watch, though I'll take a look at any suggestions people have here. Death note ftw?

I don't think it's Basilisk... but this still looks dope! Gonna check out Death Note first though.

The anime series I don't know the name... I remember an ep where this lizard looking dude who spits poison/acid is fighting a human dude who uses strings/wires to dismember mofos. The fight is stopped before they kill each other. The 2 rival schools despise each other in a honorably manner I suppose. :)

You didnt like bleach? But you do like FMA? Weird.... One Piece and Naruto would keep you busy for a while. Which reminds me, there should be a new naruto episode out by now...

You think? I mean FMA is a well written story with a believable world. The attention to detail in it's society is pretty astounding, & there is an amazing conclusion to the story.

Bleach is about a 15 year old highschool kid who fights ghosts... that noone else can see? The action scenes in it are cheesy IMO. I saw the ep where an innocent human, who turned into a demon was then enslaved as his personal teddy bear, all the while talking about morals & shit. I just laughed the whole time @ the show, not with it. :)

I think you missed some parts of that episode =)

Watch Trigun as someone else said if you haven't already.

I liked this series. It had a finite ending. It had an interesting style. It had a little bit of supernatural, a lot of psychology, a lot of build-up. I really enjoy how your sense of good and evil gets distorted during the series and they don't have the main characters as pure good or pure evil.
