Just had my 5 year old Honda in for service for the fourth time. I bought this overpriced peice of garbage based on a Consumer Reports. I plan to drop my subscription to CR because they are just full of sh*t anymore. Because they will not take advertising, they have no money to properly test anything, IMO. They are testing Lawn mowers on nice dry level areas, and are clueless about real world conditions. (My Honda has never been able to mulch in damp conditions, for example. I have had 3 mechanics tell me that nothing was wrong with the mower, it just cound not handle either long or damp grass).
You might want to check out this forum; other lawn guys seem to like Toro BTW:

Toro does make some good mowers, but they're pretty expensive. As I said earlier....cheap mowers are some of the best as long as they have a Briggs & Stratton engine on them. You can get more HP & a sharper blade if you're wanting to mulch stuff. The key is to get a mower you can find cheap parts for and it will last a lifetime.

XMark mowers are great! Ive used the ski behinds and the riders. Both x-cellant, but the ski behinds take getting used to riding. But changing a broken belt is a 8itch on xmarks. The orange Scag is the best IMO. Also i hear Gravely are really nice.
