thats a good question because from the specs alone it really does look like the ImageQuest is the better monitor. Dot pitch, weight, power consumption and Price (by a lot) all favor the ImageQuest.. with the rest of the specs being the same. That's why I bought it. I am not sure how in real life terms it compares the the Samsung, but I would hope favorably, giving all the spec advantages it has over it.

The only thing that I can think of when you bring up Samsung's phrase "It's easy to see why the
SyncMaster 900NF is the most advanced screen in the world."
is that it's just a marketing slogan. Companies do that all the time dont they? They say "the #1 maker of so and so.." or "we're the best!" ... does it actually mean they're the best? Either that, or samsung's is really better and the numbers are complete lies.. but I dont think that will be the case.

in this comparison via monitorsdirect.com, the imagequest comes out ahead

even the write-up for the monitor on the site claims "It's easy to see why the

although the same write-up appears on a number of sites, many reviewers agree
with it, and rightly so for all i know.

so what's missing ? what are the statistics above not saying, overlooking, or ignoring ?

The Samsung 900nf is a very sweet monitor.

Optiquest is built by Viewsonic so, in my mind, that rules them right out. I've had bad luck with Viewsonics and never really been impressed.

I've had good luck/been impressed with the following:

KDS (VS-195e)
Samsung (900NF)
Cornerstone (p1450)

Personally I use a Viewsonic P95f+, It doesnt have the sharpest text, but it has absolutely excellent colors and is great for games and movies.

btw, there is a difference between the P95f and P95f+, the P95f is a higher quality monitor.

i'm wondering how the P95f is better, since the P95f+ gets better refresh rates, and has the same dot pitch.
