Class action suits like this make me sick to my stomach. Some lawyer group probably banked 1.5 million....Nutella prices go up, and people are still just as dumb as they always were and likely will take that $20 and go to McDonalds and spend it on a "healthy" grilled chicken sammich with 1500mg of sodium in it.

I hate humanity.

This.

Due to my love for nutella, I refuse to partake in this lawsuit.

Doesn't that just end up shoveling more to the lawyers?

What about a class-action lawsuit against lawyers that start class-action lawsuits?

I think I've tried it once, I don't really see how someone would think that some peanut butter with chocolate powder stirred in would be healthy though. I've always thought that if it tasted good, it probably wasn't good for you.

The great dilemma. I think in the end, it's better not to participate. By jumping on board, you're no better than the greasy lawyers, and greedy twats that brought the suit. The money isn't free. It comes at the cost of your integrity, and soul.

I'm going to use my claim check to buy more Nutella.

They have a few commercials where it's implied that it can be part of healthy breakfast. Since most people are generally pretty stupid, they saw it as, "OMG Nutella is healthy! Let's put it on everything!"

I'm guessing the next lawsuits will be against Pop Tarts and Fruity Pebbles.

Nutella is akin to spreading frosting on your toast. There are hazelnut alternatives that taste way better and have a better nutritional profile.
Justin's Nut Butter is my favorite. Expensive, but very delicious.http://www.justinsnutbutter.com/

According to their site, my local Kroger stores carry their products. I will have to pick up some of their Nutella Alternative - I love the combination and do enjoy Nutella as is, but would love to get some that isn't so chock full of sugar.

The protein and fat combination alone really should provide a certain "umami/sweetness" profile that doesn't need a shit ton of sugar added on top. Just like peanut butter.

Which, speaking of peanut butter, have you tried Justin's peanut butter? I'd be interested in trying that, as I love, love me some good peanut butter - but the organic/high-end natural PB's can be so hit and miss. That, and it looks about twice the price of peanut butter. I'm willing to pay more on a gamble for a better chocolate-hazelnut product, but peanut butter - not so willing.

Something is up with Javascript for me today...can't quote anything or edit posts.Anyways.I am a huge fan of Justin's products. IMO, if you are a big fan of peanut butter in general, you will like theirs :) I can polish off a jar of the hazelnut butter in under a few days...LOL

Wow. I'm not sure how anyone can think Nutella is healthy. Everyone participating in this lawsuit deserves a swift kick in the nuts (hard enough so they can't procreate the retardedness anymore). I've probably bought at least a jar in that time, but I mainly spread it on crepes with some strawberry jelly as a desert. Although I have been known to eat it with a spoon and some almonds.

Geee...Sugar + Oil are the first two ingredients. If you think that's healthy then please punch yourself in the genitals. Repeatedly.
I took your advice. Now my genitals hurt. Will spreading Nutella on them help with the swelling?

Stick a jar in the freezer first. Let it sit for 4 hours, then remove from freezer and apply liberally to affected region.

I used to work with a woman who ate nutella out of the jar with a spoon and claimed her weight issues were medical-related.

Impossible. Obesity is genetic and has absolutely nothing to do with personal habits. We've already had this discussion here a million times. Fatties are never to blame for their fatty fattiness. You're just mean.

From their site:

Why is nutella a good option for a tasty breakfast?
We believe that nutella can be eaten as part of a good breakfast, one that provides foods from all the food groups in appropriate amounts (energy and a balance of essential nutrients – carbohydrates, proteins, fat, vitamins and minerals) which contribute to the day’s requirements.

nutella is a low GI food1, which means it releases its energy slowly. Low GI breakfasts have been shown to help maintain energy levels and reduce snacking later in the day.

Using nutella means no butter or alternative fat spread needs to be used so the total fat, and saturated fat, content would be less than that of, for example, jam and standard full fat butter on toast. In addition, the fat in nutella is mainly ‘good’ (non-saturated) fat (two thirds or 67%).

It is recommended that approximately 20% of the day’s nutritional requirement is eaten at breakfast time, therefore nutella’s contribution of 4.7g equates to just 7% of the day’s total fat quota for an adult, and 34% of the 14g GDA fat allowance for an adult at breakfast time.

We advocate that nutella is best eaten with wholegrain toast, with low or no sugar cereal with milk and pure fruit juice.
