I've collected maybe 50+ of these P2P or piracy notices in 3 years or so; I responded to a few by writing a lengthy fuck you letter, but now I just trash them.

Yeah but it's not just comcast or only a disconnect. People get taken to court by RIAA/MPAA or whatever, have high laywer fees, and then lose the case and have to pay thousands of dollars for each download that happened. You'd pretty much be screwed if they decided to go to court. For all you know they are just saving all that info and waiting to fine you later and make an example of you. Your letters are going to be hilarious when they read them in court :biggrin:

If it is, that should list the client used. Since she lives in your house and used the internet you pay for, go through her hardware and hunt down evidence, she probably uninstalled the client after you talked to her. Like the other poster suggested, check her prime too.

For me, the biggest offense here is not the pirating, if she indeed torrented the file, it's lying about it. Innocent until proven guilty is the right approach, especially since you can search her stuff and have the moral high ground to go through her stuff.

It's almost exactly like that notice, although I don't see the specific source site listed.

There was one other daughter home last night, and although the possibility of coincidence seems remote, I have to talk with her as well.

The "EXCELLENCE" bit of the file name is the name of the group who ripped and uploaded the pirated video. They're a well-known group in certain circles.

Maybe the Roku was messing up or Amazon was having problems so she decided to just download the episode elsewhere but doesn't want to admit to her creative problem-solving for whatever reason.

You're sure this is the exact season and episode that she was watching?

I mean, who gives a shit anyway, but that's a torrent all right.

Seems to coincidental for the situation to be a neighbor piggy backing on your wireless network or something.
