Any progress about the fight. folks? I sent mine rebate 5 weeks ago, nothing came up in their website. Should I wait for anthoer 3 weeks or take action now? I've never been in this kinda fight before, can anyone tell me how to do that? Should I telephone NEC before I file any complaint on BBB or State Attorney General?
And do I have to provide any evidence when filing complaint? like the original rebate form and the latter one which indicates the exclusion of purchases from staples; and the webpage of NEC with staples listed as authorized retailer.
TIA

I followed the lead of Venne and also called the rebate headquarters. I was also told to Fax in the information submitted with the rebate. I ask if it was possible to e-mail instead of faxing it, and was given the following address: emails@parago.com attention "rebates submission" this might help those who also find it more convienient to email than fax in their submission
OMG. NEC and Staples didn't even make that rebate offer to you. Someone found a rebate elsewhere, and at least on FW, gave a caveat that it may not be valid. I feel sorry for those of you who were relying on that rebate. But if NEC doesn't pay it, that's not fraud.Originally posted by: bcg213
Note to those who submitted complaints to the BBB, FTC, and the local attorney general's office. You may wish to add one more to the list of where to send the complaint, i.e., the US Postal Service for mail fraud. Since the postal service is used to submit this rebate, it would come under the auspices of the USPS mail fraud department. Its website is http://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/fraud
It doesn't hurt to cover all of our bases with NEC. Good luck to all.
But the rebate form states that the rebate is valid at authorized resellers. Staples is clearly authorized. They later changed the form to exclude staples. It was valid, they decided not to honor it and then changed it to prevent this from happening in the future.Originally posted by: pxc

:| This morning, I just received the same message from NEC @ 1-866-327-8350 in that they said the rebate wasn't valid and they tried to redirect me to Staples, which I refused to do. In turn, I was told to send a copy my rebate request to:
NEC Rebates
Special Handling Department
PO Box 72699
Rockford, MN 55572.
I anxiously await their reply to my submission. Note to those who submitted complaints to the BBB, FTC, and the local attorney general's office. I just spoke with an NEC rebate representative concerning the LCD1735NXM $90 rebate (after I checked their website for my rebate and it could find no info). At first she told me to wait 8 weeks for the rebate to go into the system (I told her it had already been about 6, it should be there). Then she asked where I purchased the monitor, I told her Staples, and she said my rebate would be invalid when the rebate paperwork was processed. There are only 5 vendors that participate in NEC LCD rebates, she said, and Staples is not one of them. I told her I got the rebate form from the NEC site and there was no info concerning valid or invalid retailers, and that I had received rebates from NEC before on items purchased from staples. She said that they do have the list of valid retailers for rebates on their web site, and I was out of luck (despite my threats of Better Business Bureau, Internet Fraud, etc).
What's the next step here? That $90 rebate was the reason I purchased the monitor, I almost sure I got the rebate form straight off their website, and there was no info concerning retailer restrictions. And staples has been valid before. I hope we can complain enough here to get some action. Their rebate phone no is 1-866-327-8350. Website for checking rebates is www.nec.archway.com.

Did you have to fight for your rebate or did they just send it to you no problem?
