I weigh 150 @ 71 inches (5'11") and I continue to exercise (I run) and diet. If I can do it I'm sure someone can prevent themself from passing into the 400, 500+ range. I can't imagine how anyone could possibly reach girth that size, let alone sustain it. It just doesn't even seem possible.

dude you're skinny as sh1t.
I'm like 5' 10" and i'm 180.

My redneck roommate told me he's never seen a beefier asian kid.

Yeah but my overall "frame" is small so to be "skinny as shit" I'd have to weigh about 140. The point isn't for me to lose weight, per se. In fact, I want to gain some, but in form of muscle. As it stands most of what I weigh comes from fat. Thus, I exercise to burn weight and build muscle. I didn't mention any of this because it was more about weight loss in this thread. The running part of my routine is to burn fat and build heart/leg/lung strength.

And btw, I'm the same size as j00.

The people in this thread assuming this guy's problem is gluttony are disgustingly ignorant.

This guy has a physical problem that started at birth or before. He cannot process calories in the same way you do.

Most people who reach this kind of weight do so on normal diets. Some even continue to gain weight on restricted diets.

He has a disability His problem is beyond his control. But just because his disease makes him obese, you ridicule and insult him.

Yeah, 90 pounds at age 5 is not his fault. Its obvious he is more predisposed to weight gain. Hell I didnt weigh 90 until I was 11.

I'm sorry, but if he managed to lose 321 pounds on a 1200 calorie a day diet in just two months he was consuming far more than 2000 calories a day.

For all you know, his diet was a mere 2500 calories (2500 is the norm, not 2000).

And study after study has shown for the obese it takes very little extra to gain weight, and NO extra to maintain it.

I'll tell you what. I'll pay you 1 million if you can gain enough weight to weigh 1300 lbs.

The guy has a disability. Blaming him for his condition is like blaming someone for any other incurable or genetic disease. It's ignorant.

The problem is that it seems most overweight people think they have this same disability. :frown:

Look, up to a certain point he has to be eating X amount of calories to maintain a certain weight. Simply because his organs have to expend so much energy.

Visit this website

for just an example. Input this guys stats and you'll notice that a normal person would have to consume almost 10,000 calories a day just to maintain 1000 lbs. So even say his genetics are against him, and let's be real conservative about this, he would have had to have been consuming at least 5,000 calories a day.

Though I highly doubt he is 2x more "effecient" at storeing fat than a normal person. I would venture to guess he was actually eating somewhere between 7,000-9,000 calories a day.

And FYI 2,000 calories a day is all the avg human body needs to maintain a healthy condition.

My almost 11 year old son weighed in at 126 this weekend. Granted he is about 5' tall, but he is getting too fat. I let him know as much this morning when he and the wife were complaining that his pants were too small. They fit well around the legs but he had a hard time buttoning them. Their answer is to buy bigger pants, my answer to him was to stop eating so damn much and go play outside more. It's no wonder he claims that his most favorite thing to do is eat.

I agree. Probably around 70% of the overweight and obese people are just that way because of gluttony and sloth. However, many (enough to be signifigant) have a serious disability that causes uncontrolable weight gain.
