...the structure of the bracket HAS to be changed with 96 teams. If it's not an exponential of two, you have to have byes.

Only the lowest eight seeds in the Big East play more games than anyone else. They usually don't make the tournament, but hey, half of them probably will now.

Besides, the Big East and Big Ten already play more (18 vs 16) conference games than most everybody else. Clearly it isn't bothering them.

I am not sure that would even cut it. It seems like the bracket would get taller more than it would wider.
