I routinely do EASO "Testing" via their community leaders program.
Now since EA and MS have shook hands I was psyched to do the same Community Leaders program with NCAA and all the other titles. I get my normal emails from my buddy at EA inviting me into the program but I dont have a damned LIVE account to use... you THINK EA could float me an account.

So no freebie XBOX games for me... but yes, NCAA 2005 looks to be amazing (again)

I don't think you deserve free EA games if you can't pony up $50 for a LIVE account.

Also, it doesn't ship to retailers until Monday, the 12th.

I still think you should get a Live account. Heck, you're spending $20 on the game...you could have spent $20 more on a LIVE account and gotten the game free for testing purposes. Hope you enjoy the game. I know I'll be wearing it out next week.

$20 for Live or $20 for NCAA? If it's live you're looking for just send me a PM and I'll dig it up from my home PC.

BTW, I went to return some movies at Blockbuster and they said the game releases on the 16th. WTF happened to Tuesday?! :p

Can't wait to get my hands on this game. But since ESPN 2k5 is coming out on July 20 I can't decide which one I'll play more.

Don't game usually come out on a Friday? That's why the 16th actually made sense to me. Either way it's just going to hit the shelf whenever the retailer gets it anyway. Games are strange with release dates being tied more to ship dates than anything else.

BTW, I'll be looking for some people to play some NCAA with so if anyone is interest in a little AT action I think that would be great. At least it would remove the randomness out of the process.

Has anyone found a solid, reliable release date yet? I've heard every single date next week except Friday. Games usually come out on Tuesdays, don't they? I've seen something floating around about it being the 15th. I should probably just call up Gamestop or whatever's in the mall these days and ask them if they know anything yet.

sigh.... my league(s) well they were lost to "the great server crash of 2004 where home was too stupid to have any remotley current backups"

They WILL flourish again though. There is no question about that. They are/were PC versions though, not console. LIVE featured arguably the best Ballers on the net today... VERY competitive but completely still fun. The only restrictions are the waiting list... its quite long, be we make special exceptions. That one wont kick off again in FULL swing until 2005 is released though.

Be sure to spend the extra $10 and get the headset. Not much fun to play if you can't join in chatting.

Alright guys, here's how the shipping on NCAA is going to be.

NCAA ships on Monday, 7/12. Game specialty stores such as Gamestop and EBGames will have their shipments overnighted (as always), so they will arrive usually around noon on 7/13. It's basically a call-before-you-go kinda thing.

Other stores, such as Best Buy, Circuit City, etc, will usually get the game 2 or 3 days out. This is why they usually advertise games to be available on 7/14, 7/15, 7/16. They aren't game stores, so they usually do not spend the extra money for the quick shipment. They advertise only the date that they know it will be there, so as not to piss off customers. Last year, Madden was at my local Best Buy a day earlier than advertised, because they sometimes get shipments in early. Remeber, the dates they provide are "safe" dates. So, look for NCAA at those stores later in the week.

And never never never go by the actual developer/publisher release dates they give. They always give a "safe" date as well, because they don't want to tell you the day after it ships, and then you go to WalMart and get pissed off because it's not there.

Hope that clears up some confusion.
