I want to send someone a simple gift. How hard is it to find real maple syrup in North Carolina?

I'm talking the 100% Vermont maple syrup type but I don't want to send something that readily available in a store.

I bought some from Walmart this past monday, and do so once a month. Pure 100% vermont maple syrup. My life depends on it; my wife would murder me if I brought home anything else.

Whether it can be found or not isn't always the issue. Maple Syrup is relatively expensive, so is appreciated as a gift for that reason alone. Depends on their economic situation though.

Wouldn't something like that be readily available in a grocery store?

not real maple syrup.

In which case, I was thinking you would have to stick to Vermont/NH/Maine to get real maple syrup in the US?

but why maple syrup in NC? Why not send them some real BBQ? (which obviously only exists in NC)

Idk... I could always get real maple syrup in grocery stores in Chicago and NY. Not that fake crap. Real, genuine maple syrup.

On a side note, did you know NYS is the country's second largest producer of maple syrup?
