Actually for some reason, it all turned around in this episode. Rocco went into the kitchen and started cooking and nobody was complaining. It's when he's not cooking that the place is in chaos. Just shows that a chef should never leave the kitchen!

did no one else watch this last night?

I did! This is probably the first reality show I've watched, simply because it isn't as contrived (at least in theory) as the rest. All I have to say is, I would never eat there. I haven't seen one person actually like the food ( I know, whiners make for better TV, but still). And the guy with the broken arm, I'd be pissed. They send you home, call you up, have you waste an hour of your day coming back down, and then send you home again. Although, I have to ask: why did NBC send a camera back to his house if they didn't know that was going to happen? I wonder how much NBC is pulling the strings behind the scenes in order to get a good show.

One final question: how long ago were these shows taped? Is the restaurant still open, is it still relatively new, or has it settled down some?
Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if the whole damn thing was stagged. It just goes all too well for a reality series; disasters, arguments, more disasters, etc. Opening a restaurant is hard work I'm sure, but NBC would have to be pulling strings to get this thing to be interesting, otherwise things will go right sooner than later, and that makes for a boring show.

watching the 3rd eps now on tape, i saw the other two too. based on this show i just want to slug most of those waiters. seriously, they talk too much. drama queens, seriouslyt, it can't be that hard to find good workers right now with the econ in the sh*ts.:p

i'd like to see how they'd do at an asian restaurant lol:)

Man, what's up with that guy Topher? He wanted a little motorcycle so he acts like a drama queen and quits because he's not happy? WTF?

Funny when Rocco didn't offer him anything and just ended the conversation with "I'm sorry, good luck". Topher's expressions were funny and surprised. He thought he would get a little scooter or segway from Rocco.

This show is funny and stupid, but better then Who wants to Pimp my dad or For Love or for Who Cares 2.

The last time I worked some where and a manager talked to me like that guy talks to his employees, I asked to speak with him in the break room, then I tossed his ass over two tables. Never - ever - talk to another human being that way.

That idiot has no business managing people. If he's not careful, he may find himself getting a lead pipe upside the head when he's walking to his car after work one night.

ok what was with them making the broken arm guy come down to the restaurant for a second time without anything to do...

and he does live in too nice of a place in NYC for someone who has no job...

also it seemed that the transition from a horrible restaurant to agood one went too fast...how does rocco being a cook stop the food from being cold? and the waiters are all doing their job perfectly now?

funniest part was when the one waitress lost the customers credit card...lol

Remember there are only six episodes of this show.

However, why is there more show of "Who Wants to Pimp My Dad?" then "The Restaurant"??

It is all staged. The cooks cannot prepare a freaking hot dish? Thats crap. I guess they do not even have a microwave.
Rocco comes in like a savior and bam baam baam prepares great food. what a joke!!!

Whatever do you mean? All of my favorite restaurants have liquid leaking from the ceiling tiles that "smell like alcohol" (according to the workers). ;)

anyone see the previews for this coming week?

there is some big scandal happening

no, what is happening?

paraphrased

voice says "Scandals are exposed"
the camera's start going into a back room and the cooks come running out yelling...
"NO! You can't come in here, get outta here!"
voice says "and three cooks do the unthinkable"
then you see rocco all serious saying "what in the hell were you thinking? how could you do this"

just went to the site......
"EPISODE 105 Stage fright The staff is angry that their paychecks haven't arrived - some of them can't even pay the rent. Rocco's overworked Mom gets sick. Then three of his cooks can't come to work because they got in a bloody bar fight, and Rocco wonders if the bad news will ever end. Bringing food to his sick Mom, Rocco realizes he has been pushing everyone too hard. He decides to work as a server and demonstrate he's part of the team. That night he works with Uzay. Struggling to keep up, Rocco earns the staff's grudging admiration. He also gains a new appreciation for how difficult their jobs are"
