wixt0r, with shaq out for two games two weeks ago, kobe still scored 40+ games and won both games. even with a sore knee .

you failed to notice that in the beginning of the season, even when the lakers went 3-9 with just kobe, the lakers went 8 - 10 with both kobe and shaq before they started winning games consistently again. the whole team was slumping. that is the reason why kobe alone did not win many games.

from 3-9 to 8-10 is an improvement in itself...i think shaq had a whole lot to do with it.

i think mcgrady has the edge in talent and athletic ability slightly, but kobe has become a really good clutch shooter, and this year he finally started hitting threes.

Ignorant? Please... I refrained from calling your post anything, and you go and slam on mine. The ignorance is in your blindness and one-sidedness about the issue. It is also in your attempt to be quite possibly the biggest Kobe Bryant brown noser of all time.

You act is if the Orlando Magic were not built for TMac and Grant Hill to compliment each other. TMac has single-handedly carried the team on his back for 2 years without the services of Grant Hill. I understand the fact that Shaq is the main component of the Lakers, which is why I made it known in my comparison (Lakers with/without Shaq). But without the "partner/complimentary player", who is doing more for their team? Forget about the stats, any of the top 10 players in the league could put up 40pts a night if their coach asked them to do so. Forget the triple doubles, leave those to the fantasy boys. Look at it from the point of view where it really matters, WINS FOR THE TEAM. TMac & his cast are a playoff team, whereas Kobe & his cast (Without Shaq) are not.

With Shaq in the lineup, teams cannot double team Kobe as it will lead to too many open and easy looks for Shaq. You wonder why he scored all those points? That's one of the reasons why. That, along with his extraordinary ability. TMac gets doubled every single night. He still scores, he still passes, he still does everything needed to win the game. The only time teams are relunctant to double TMac is when Garrity is lighting it up, which is not all that often (though he is a very good shooter).

Also, about Kobe going through missing salary and not having 2 starters. How about TMac not even having a healthy back. Thats far more devastating than missing some money he's never going to spend and Rick Fox being MIA. If Kobe is so much better, why didn't the Lakers win those games. He had plenty of rest coming into the season.

Enough with these childish comparisons though, I'm just bringing them out because you chose to call my comparisons ignorant when there was no need to do so. Grow up, it's just basketball talk.

if dahunan is the biggest kobe brown noser of all time, then you're the biggest tmac brown noser of all time.

if you don't think that the magics playing style better accomodates tmac, then you're a tool. there are plenty of players that can easily replace grant hills spot, but who on the lakers can even come close to replacing shaq?

tmac gets to run the ball up and down the court at his will while kobe must wait for shaq to set up the triangle. the magics offense runs through tmac, the lakers offense runs through shaq with kobe being the number 2 option and yet kobe still manages to score 30+ppg.

you wanna make a comparison? put kobe on the magic and tmac on the lakers, kobe would thrive in a run and gun offense, can you say that tmac would even do well in the triangle?

he still jacks up a lot of shots for a 2nd option so i think he's still getting his fair share of the ball compared to tmac.

Watch his game closely and you will see that he is often forced to take many of those shots really late in the shot clock because everyone else had their turn with the ball.


P.S. I owe everyone a bit of an apology....... I frequent an NBA board and get so tired of hearing people say "The Lakers without Shaq are a lottery team" Shaq earns 24 million dollars... That is the price of Two MAX contracts. He earns one third the salary of the whole team.....

his field goal % is too low, but i think it has a lot to do with the way the offense runs in boston. he's a great slasher tho 🙂.

T-Mac, Kobe and Pierce are my favorite players in the NBA .. Pierce is very inconsistent though, that's the only thing i don't like about him .. T-Mac and Kobe are both just amazing..

Of course, one of my other favorite players is maddog (mark madsen) on the lakers .. only cuz i'm a lakers fan and he brings the most energy to the team out of any player.. They can be down by 50 with 2 minutes to play in the 4th and he still is off the bench if someone makes a shot .. He's like, the ultimate lakers fan playing for the lakers .. heh
