NBA: Who's Better T-Mac or Kobe?

I'm a Magic fan, so I'm kinda partial to T-Mac.

It's too bad that they just seem to fall apart when he passes off the ball...😱

-Ben-

actually the new magic players, drew gooden and gordon giricek, have been a pleasant addition for the magic...tmac's averaged about 9 assists the last 6 games and got 13 today against the bulls.

Like "MVP", you kind of need to define what the term "best" means. Is this in terms of sheer numbers, what they mean to their team, talent.....😕

sorry. didn't read too carefully. Same thing can be applied to "better" though.

Talent wise they may just be about equal, but I'd say Kobe has more desire to be the best and thats what sets him above T-Mac.

by stats only:
kobe

almost same points, more assists, more rebounds, more steals, better 3pt/ft percentage, same (.001) fg%....
only thing is he's getting one more TO than mcgrady...but eh.

but everything is just speculation

One of them actually plays defense and gives his players compliments<<this one won the NBA Dunk Contest in his rookie year

Became the youngest All-Star in NBA history, posting a team-high 18 points and 6 rebounds, in the 1998 NBA All-Star Game in New York

Named to the 1996-97 NBA All-Rookie Second Team, averaging 7.6 ppg and 15.5 mpg in 71 games

Won the Nestle Crunch Slam Dunk during the 1997 NBA All-Star Weekend in Cleveland and participated in the Schick Rookie Game, posting a rookie game-record 31 points and 8 rebounds

Made his NBA debut at the age of 18 years, 2 months and 11 days old, became the youngest player ever to appear in an NBA game, against the Minnesota Timberwolves on 11/3/96
Selected by USA Today and Parade Magazine as the National High School Player of the Year as a senior at Lower Merion H.S.

One of them can't get himself out of the mirror (in love with self) (Do you need a hint? 😉

Kobe is a better basketball player (in the same sense that Tim Duncan is the best "basketball player" in the league).

T-mac is a better athelete though. Like, if T-mac knew how to play like Kobe, and had the skills that Kobe had, MJ would be a memory.

The things T-mac can do, NO one else can do.

But basketball is a skill, and Kobe's got lightyears on T-mac (not to say Kobe isn't a great athelete...but picture Randy Moss...that's T-mac. Imagine if Randy Moss had Jerry Rice's "skills". Yeah, there you go).

Anyway, I'm tired.

Elementary Comparison
-----------------------------------

TMac + Team (Pre-Trade) = Playoffs
TMac + Team (Post-Trade) = Darkhorse in unpredictable East

Versus

Kobe + Team (No Shaq) = Lottery
Kobe + Team (With Shaq) = Possible 4-Peat

It's easy to see that TMac, pound for pound, game for game, brings more to the court and to the team versus Bryant.
Even with Kobe's amazing scoring run, he has yet to catch up with McGrady in scoring. Imagine if TMac played with Shaq, he'd be doing everything Kobe is doing now, and then some. Why? He makes everybody around him better, as seen by my little comparison above.

Your little comparison above is just that LITTLE

Your comparisons are IGNORANT

Do you know that the Lakers are built FOR SHAQ to COMPLIMENT SHAQ..... huh, DO YOU????

Do you know that Kobe started the season MINUS two Starters and minus 28 Million Dollars in salary?? And that Phil Jackson wouldn't let Kobe do all the scoring in the beginning of the year. Kobe was forced to work with the scrubs that were left over while Rick Fox and Shaq both sat out the beginning of the year...

Phil just asked Kobe to start scoring more to take the load off of Fat Shaq who is injured.... So, what did Kobe do? He CHANGED THE FRIGGIN RECORD BOOKS... THAT IS WHAT HE DID.

Kobe leads the league in Triple Doubles with 5 (T-Mac who supposedly makes his teammates better has ONE)
Kobe is #2 in efficiency
Tied Jordan for most consecutive 40pt games
Set NBA records for 9 Consecutive three pointers and 12 in a game...

Ignorant? Please... I refrained from calling your post anything, and you go and slam on mine. The ignorance is in your blindness and one-sidedness about the issue. It is also in your attempt to be quite possibly the biggest Kobe Bryant brown noser of all time.

Do you know that the Lakers are built FOR SHAQ to COMPLIMENT SHAQ
You act is if the Orlando Magic were not built for TMac and Grant Hill to compliment each other. TMac has single-handedly carried the team on his back for 2 years without the services of Grant Hill. I understand the fact that Shaq is the main component of the Lakers, which is why I made it known in my comparison (Lakers with/without Shaq). But without the "partner/complimentary player", who is doing more for their team? Forget about the stats, any of the top 10 players in the league could put up 40pts a night if their coach asked them to do so. Forget the triple doubles, leave those to the fantasy boys. Look at it from the point of view where it really matters, WINS FOR THE TEAM. TMac & his cast are a playoff team, whereas Kobe & his cast (Without Shaq) are not.

With Shaq in the lineup, teams cannot double team Kobe as it will lead to too many open and easy looks for Shaq. You wonder why he scored all those points? That's one of the reasons why. That, along with his extraordinary ability. TMac gets doubled every single night. He still scores, he still passes, he still does everything needed to win the game. The only time teams are relunctant to double TMac is when Garrity is lighting it up, which is not all that often (though he is a very good shooter).

Also, about Kobe going through missing salary and not having 2 starters. How about TMac not even having a healthy back. Thats far more devastating than missing some money he's never going to spend and Rick Fox being MIA. If Kobe is so much better, why didn't the Lakers win those games. He had plenty of rest coming into the season.

Enough with these childish comparisons though, I'm just bringing them out because you chose to call my comparisons ignorant when there was no need to do so. Grow up, it's just basketball talk.

dahunan,
chill out man. It's only basketball. Do you know u acting like a lunatic fan huh, DO YOU????.
I'm sure Kobe with his millions and millions of dollars is appreciating how feverishly ur defending him right now.
