Ahhh, slap, I forewarn you sir, don't be another delusional fan. The Jizzlies traded away an established star for an unknown commodity and two oft injured role players. People say Gasol is a Dirk without the shooting touch/atheleticism. What I wanna know is what good is he for this coming year then, especially considering it took Dirk three years to become a contributor.

Ahh and then there's bibby for Jwont and Nick Anderson's bad knees and worse contract. They lose maybe the best young point guard in the league at age 21 for a pot addict and a racist, arrogant out of control kid and a guy who's best days are done since he missed those two free throws.

Stupid vancouver/memphis.

I'm just happy that Lampley got drafted. Albeit he was picked 45 and he's a total tweener but still, go bears.

Lakers just traded Greg "BWS" Foster for Lindsey Hunter. Solid deal, nothing blockbuster type, but good deal for the Lakers. Add another three point shooter, should help with the new rules. Fodder was practice Fodder anyways. I think all East teams have lost their minds, except for Atlanta. First sh*tcago trades Brand, now Hunter for Fobber

Wow the Clippers got Elton Brand. I can't wait to see how the Clippers are gonna do next year. I hope the Candyman will do better next season so they can have at least good def with twin towers (I hope Brand and Candyman can play like Duncan and Robinson).

I like it. Anything that gets that stiff Foster off the roster is fine with me. Hunter is a decent shooter and plays defense, and he gives the Lakers some speed in the backcourt off the bench. Foster was just useless.

Apparently a deal made for salary cap reasons. Milwaukee faces the luxury tax, and Sammy Ca$$ell wants a new deal as he'd grossly underpaid. Foster's salary is like 1.9 mil and it expires end of this season, while Hunter is locked in for a bit.

Regardless, solid deal for the Lakers (who I cant stand, just like the Bucks)

Chicago fans, how does it feel to have your team run by a madman?

Tyson Chandler for Elton Brand?!?!?

I'm from the Chicago area, and I am also wondering what these guys are thinking. Brand IS young, and he's a solid and proven player. I read that he averaged 20 points per game last year. He could have grown to be a great team leader and player in time.
I just don't understand. I think they got mixed up. You're supposed to KEEP the good players, not get rid of them as soon as they show some promise.

<<I read that he averaged 20 points per game last year>>

From the LA Times:

<< No matter how good these other guys turn out to be, they won't do much better than a double-double every night. Only eight other players did it last season, and their names are Shaquille O'Neal, Tim Duncan, Kevin Garnett, Chris Webber, Antonio McDyess, Dikembe Mutombo, Shawn Marion and Antonio Davis. Of the group, only Shaq, Duncan, Webber, Garnett, McDyess and Brand were good for 20 and 10 a game. >>

The Clippers got a great deal!

damn! these high school players are getting better every year. these guys are monssterous!! they're all like 6'11" and 7'!!!!!

Just because they are drafting taller players every year doesn't make them better players. I find it stupid the way that people are drafted simply because of their height.

i made that comment because these younger kids are getting bigger every year not because the NBA is drafting them cause of their height. height dont mean nothin!! look at manute bol.

these guys are good. if they weren't, the nba would not risk losing millions for them. think aobut it. if you were an owner, would you do this unless it was worth it??

yes Brand was really good, but how much did Chicago improve with him? very little. They also still have Marcus Fizer who plays the same position as brand. Tyson Chandler has the *potential* to become a superstar. Him and eddy curry can support each other as they both are high schoolers jumping into the NBA. Furthermore, with the terrible record they are sure to get next year, they can hope to get a top pick in the lottery and draft that 7footer from China or Jason Williams.

Bottom line is, they may not get results in the next year or two, but a few years down the line their lineup is monstrous.

DukeN,

I think you are wrong about the new Memphis team. You will see a much better team than you did last year, of course that isn't saying much. Battier is arguably the best all around player in the draft. He will be a great player to build the team around. There is also no reason to call the Vancouver anymore, it is a done deal. All drafting was handled here in Memphis. Besides Lorenzen Wright is a very solid palyer with good numbers. With a new team coming to town you need a hometown guy like Wright to help spur the team along and bring in fans. If the Pyramid stays packed for this season, that is a big if, then we can only hope for an even better year the next once the new arena is finished. Anyway I can only hope our team will do well.

<< None of this matters cause shaq is gonna own all of u again next year. GO LAKERS! >>

It's true...don't matter what teams picked who, Lakers win it in 2002.
